MotoGP » Jorge Lorenzo: I was too confident

"I flew and when I hit the ground I broke my collarbone. I don't have anything negative with this circuit, just bad luck or in this case, too much confidence" - Jorge Lorenzo.

@motojunkie . Yes you are correct! You beat me to it. He touched the white line while vertical as soon as he touched the brakes the front wheel just tucked and that left rossi and dovi battling for the lead. Rossi fell too that race but picked the bike up and finished 5th. , dovi got his 1st and only MotoGP win that day

"Too confident" is the story of Chulenzo's life and after years of enormous luck, it has run out a wee bit. Whilst it is true "confidence" (faith or whatever you may call it) is necessary for any endeavour, in Lorenzo's case it is more like arrogance.

A LOT of Spaniards won't be too sad to see Lorenzo on the bench for a couple of races, as a bit of humble pie. In any case: "that's racing" and there have been quite of few of his competitors who have not been as lucky.

Indside See on YouTube lorenzo vs olive in which chulenzo deliberately (YES) took out his competitor. He eventually admitted this (forced by his dad, and later had a row with him later and did not talk to him for some time).

While, Indeed he was a kid back then, but throughout his life he had EXACTLY the same attitude and of course he gained “notoriety” in Spain for his conceit and brash attitude. In fact, a few years later (2005) he was penalized one race for taking out a competitor. In fact, he has the dubious "dinstinction" to be only rider in the grid to have been penalized for this. Not surprising, the quiet pedrosa did not talk to Lorenzo for years, something hardly surprising since he was at the “receiving end” of being used as a berm on more than one ocassion.

Indeed, in the past couple of years Chulenzo (an unflattering Spanish nick) seems to have taken the advice (forced?) of an image consultant in order to improve his image
