Cal is being too modest when he says it is not a real pole without JLo in the mix. You have to stay on the bike and do the times to get pole, and the bare truth is Jorge didn't.
I'd be overjoyed to see Cal win. I'd love to see VR46 return to winning ways.
But I see Marquez thinking that he's only really got to beat Dani, and if it is a dry race I'm expecting Marc to take his first MotoGP win.
On the other hand, if it is wet it will be those who use their head who will float to the front.

Yeah, Tetley is correct, but you can guarantee if Valentino or Cal win, people will say it is because Jorge wasn't there or some other such rubbish! The race is between those on the grid, not ones who didn't make it!

Pedrosa 2:1
Lorenzo 3:1
Crutchlow 3:1
Marquez 4:1
Bradl 5:1
Rossi 6:1

Dani unfortunately slipped off in Q2 whilst leading the pack, he holds the track record here, he's leading the championship, so he's my pick for the win. Lorenzo WILL start and podium. It will be a dogfight with Cal for second place. Marquez could be in there with them if he stays on the bike. Look for Bradl to beat Rossi at Assen, I am sure that's his personal goal.

"not a true pole" due to Lorenzo absence. Huh? Cal fella its racing. Lorenzo made a racing mistake and is sidelined because of his racing mistake. You avoided that racing mistake in your racing. Its racing and all these elements add up to your overall standings. Its all racing.

@Larry ... I got deja vu reading the suggestion that Lorenzo(or a sub on his bike) should take the pit lane penalty and open his sixth engine. But he's only on his forth engine now. so if he opens his fifth - no penalty, except that, well they're all open, and can't have any upgrades added.

Jorge just needs to mange the engines he's got. There's still plenty of season left for him.

I hope he doesn't ride tomorrow, unless he can do an Edwards with that's pretty risky.
