Rossi won fair n square - once he got to the front it never looked like he was going to be troubled, apart from a brief period when Marquez pushed.

VR, MM & CC all helped JL's tremendous effort and ride pushing Dani back to 4th.

Dani will be the only one leaving Assen with a bad feeling from today.

Rossi's win adds to the interest for the next round - its good to have as many competitive racers for the box as possible. Its fair to say that there's now 5 regular podium potential contenders, making MotoGP look to have a bit more credibility at last.

Overlord, actually I was saying the same thing to my wife just now after I wrote that. Correct, one of the secrets to winning WC (as opposed to individual races) is to not get hurt. As I have stated previously you cannot tell me that one of the major contributing factors in Rossi's 9 WCs is the fact that he holds the record for the most consecutive race starts...

Final point on Cal, great race but how many times has he overshot on brakes it is his achilles heel and it is not all about kit he simply fluffs it. But irrespective did you see the way he and Marc laughed it off all three on the podium are racers not just riders. When it is Jorge and Dani it looks like a wake as they wait to go on the Podium. Nothing against them I support both but fair dinkum also if he does the cobra again I am going to break his other collar bone...

Cal rode a great race, he's lucky he didnt take himself and MM out in the scrap, that's his problem, he can pull off a quick time in qualy, then start like a noob and end up to far back. but then when it comes to chasing the pack back he always makes a mistake and outbrakes himself, he done it twice again today He said he thinks he had the pace to challenge Rossi today.. No Cal i dont think so. when it comes to battles with Rossi when he's on fire you will lose.
