I lost my respect for what he did after the race.

Watch it again closely you will see on the slowdown lap he clearly doesn't want to pass Valentino to congratulate him.

Now if my shoulder was wrecked i would want to get back to the pits to get off the bike asap.

Yet another dig at Jorge eh Andrew?
How do you know what was going through Jorges head after the race ended?
He was obviously in great discomfort and had more on his mind than giving congratulations.
You said it yourself,he just probably wanted to get off that damn bike!
He could congratulate Val later right?
Why are you making such an issue of it!

Fair play to Jorge for riding whilst injured. There are two important points I'll make, though.
1) the collarbone is a natural crumple zone. It gives way, protecting your spine. Put a plate in there, and where would an impact loading travel to? Very poor decision to race a motorbike in that condition.
2) if jl can make fifth with such lack of movement, what does that say for this class of racing? If you're on such and such a bike, you'll still finish top six regardless. Not on one of those bikes? You'll still not beat a factory bike! Put it this way - if you had such a physical reduction, where would even jl finish in Moto2 and Moto3? Not even top 10.
I'm not taking away from jl, but its a damning verdict for the premier class.

@Patrick D

Him riding that race in that condition risky ? Absolutely, but consider your chances of winning a moto GP championship ? Very small. He has to try. As far as the finish in comparison to other riders ? He's on the best bike and is one of the best riders presently. The result regardless of injury shows raw talent. Period.

Guna4699
and when will Bradley Smith come into contention?

When he is the only rider on the track, a complete waste of good machinery.
Providing he keeps paying for the ride and not getting paid it doesn't matter.
