You heard it first from Claes...there is no GOAT, by his own definition, there can be no GOAT.

No one has done well EVERY where ALL the time.

As for the championship, not going to happen this year, he is too far back with 3-4 other that will constantly be at the same level.

If he confirms over the next 3-4 rounds that he has found a setting to his liking and keeps developing his bike to his likes, next year is not out of the question.

Well do we call someone the GOAT that can win if he feels good, like the track, fans are happy and the bike are perfect for the day No we don't. We call the GOAT the person who ride fast and WIN on tracks they dislike and/or like, set up the bike to fit track, rider and environment, have great opponents, don't bag other riders riding when they have no clue what that rider are up against, be great advocate for the sport and adapt to instead of blaming circumstances. Rossi have a lot of these features therefor I/we expect him to do better all the time not only on a Yamaha-Rossi favored track:)
Cheers Claes

Again, per Claes, there is no and can be no GOAT because no one (even Ago & VR) meet ALL the criteria set out in Claes recent post.

If only life were like a salad bar...hey Claes...then we could pick and chose and pick and chose.....there are no absolutes mate. That just may be why you cannot let go, you are always looking for an absolute.

#Dave If you read what I say it's so far from absolute you can get, Rossi fans on the other hand have confirmed the Absolute with very little criteria, if you like a sport you like the ins and outs of the sport not just that It is only ONE, and as many of the Fans state is that they started liking the sport because of Rossi, so it's fair to say that they do not like the sport, they like an idol, in this case Rossi, fair enough we all have our reasons for things, but if you are interested in the sport it is harder to define a GOAT.
Cheers Claes

Claes, i disagree with you. Where have you been the last decade? Rossi developed a bike, won on that bike against strong competition. He is a tactician in a race with perfect timing, and rarely, if ever, comes off second best in a fight with another rider, to this day. The last person to truly outwit Rossi was Gibernau and his fate is already sealed. I see Lorenzo and Marquez as more arrogant than Rossi. By the way, I'm not a fanboy, I only started liking him during his Ducati tenure. All riders 'blame circumstances'. Marquez in the last race presumed he would win but pointed out his broken finger. (Post race interview). Yeah right! He wasn't in the same league.

Well said OT one criteria I place on a GOAT if there is one is longevity. Rossi has been there 15 years and still wins and against people 8 years + younger than him. Equally I would have to say that the field during during Rossi's tenure has been a lot more even than his nearest contender Ago who even on the mighty MV only started winning WCs the seasons after Hailwood left. My view is that if Rossi is max 5th or higher going into the first turn then psychologically he has it over the other three main contenders in terms of having a battle. Scream for me longbeach.

Mate whats going on here ,you said you thaught there was a conspiracy going on against rossi in the Yam pit so now he has won a race have you given up on that theory? or are you still working on it?
