Legend, GOAT, Greatest, assign any tag you wish because this guy will forever be the benchmark of this sport (until MM realises his current potential).

Great stuff from the champ! I like the total points (4646) and consider, if you exclude the 36 races for ducati, that means he's still within his previous longest range of 9 starts between wins.

With each passing week, normality draws closer (LOL).

Although the "GOAT" is a title a tad too high to give to any athlete in any sport, i cannot but admit that his long enduring dedication and love for the sport, his love for the fans and the show, his enthusiasm and passion for motorcycling, his passion for racing (and not just for riding or just for winning!) his perseverence and determination, his high spirit and positive ountlook and energy truly put him in the pantheon of the greatest, not only for motorcycling but for sports in general. He's up there with Pele, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods or Roger Federer. A shining ambassador for his sport, a man who showed that solemn determination isn't the only way to go but managed to add joy and fun to the ultra focused world of motorsports. A flamboyant personality which never forgot to whom the show was directed to and who made all of it meaningful: The fans. He has my deep respect and will always be an inspiration to me.

Across a decade he served dual purpose in double ends...

Racing thrill and fun entertainment for his fans,,
Race results and brand promotion for his team,,

No one except Rossi HAS DONE IT,, IS DOING IT,, WILL DO IT,, for the sport exactly the same or better than him or atleast closer to him... Considering that this sport is not just about racing Rossi is undoubtedly the GOAT...

Rossi is a great rider and he is fantastic with his fans. He deserves the records he sets and the adulation of the fans. At phillip island he signed my hat, things were not going his way but he still took the time with me and many others. When I asked Casey Stoner i was told no, not now. I thought when then you arrogant person, the same also with Pedrosa. This is why Valentino is so repected and loved!

"Rossi has now won in the premier-class on five different motorcycles: 500cc Honda, 990cc Honda, 990cc Yamaha, 800cc Yamaha and 1000cc Yamaha".

O.K. he was never able to tame the Ducati. When you look at the above stats. Who cares?
If that's the only thing Stoner fans can hang their hat on, good luck to them. Best Ducati rider.....................yawn.
Imagine what the records would say if Rossi never rode that piece of $hit for 2 years.

Go Rossi.
