Believe him or not, Lin Jarvis said at Assen in an interview that the Yamaha Factory and Satellite bikes are ALMOST exactly the same. Neil Spalding also mentioned that just because the Factory team get the new parts first doesn't mean they are necessarily better... Didn't Cal try Lorenzo's frame, hate it and went back to what he knew?

@ 1050cc

It's what some of us have been arguing all along (thanks Jarvis for confirming what many of us could deduce from the bike's performance), but of course you have those here dead-set on believing that Crutchlow's bike is significantly different than what Rossi or Lorenzo are riding, and that a "Factory" bike would net a significantly different result.

It is not only a factory spec bike a rider is after, but it is also factory SUPPORT. And that is something quite different, to have an extended amount of possibilities and resources for you as a rider.
In addition, the fuel tank of the satellite bikes vs the factory bikes are located differently, that is the reason why Cal suffers slower lap times early on.
Also, when did Lin Jarvis EVER spoke truthfully?

"It is not only a factory spec bike a rider is after, but it is also factory SUPPORT"

So Cal's team are crap? What do you mean "suuport"? If he's on virtually the same bike and has a good team, explain what you mean by "support"?

So Cal's starts are down to the position of his fuel tank??? Rossi has always been a crap starter but he gets to the front eventually (not inc. Ducati). Maybe Cal should start practice sessions with a full tank and work on that instead of setting fast lap times in practice? What do you mean by "support"???

I know he'll get something soon. Guaranteed. Cal's too good and popular not to. What I dont know is if it'll be the Ducati- that might be taking on a poisoned chalice, then again I may be wrong. Casey Stoner tamed the beast and won with it. Who's to say Cal cant do the same?

"Who's to say Cal cant do the same?"

The 'beast' is completely different now, more like a japanese bike. So if Dovi and Nicky cant get results on it what chance has Cal got. There is nothing really unique about it now, just plain worse than the other factories.

Lol..."Who's to say Cal cant do the same?"

Troy Bayliss, Neil Hodgson, Ruben Xaus, Loris Capirossi, Roberto Rolfo, Carlos Checa, Jose Cardoso, Alex Hoffman, Sete Gibernau, Ivan ilva, Chaz Davies, Shinichi Ito, Alex Barros, Marco Melandri, Sylvain Guintoli, Toni Elias, Michel Fabrizio, Aleix Espargaro, Nicolo Canepa, Mika Kallio, Nicky Hayden, Andrea Dovisioso, Andrea Iannone, Ben Spies, and of course Valentino Rossi.

Whole lot of fail when it comes to Ducati GP history. Sure a couple of wins here and there but the writing is on the wall so to speak.
