I like the loocks of the Forward machine, the FTR chassi loocks a well balance chassi, and i think that just like Yamaha M1 machine the FTR is one type of bike that likes to corner fast, also the Kawsaki engine is one inline 4 has Yamaha M1, wille the Honda is one v4 engine.. I think its a good bet for 2014, a good engine with smooth Power can make this Team competitive 4sure.. about the riders i think it would be nice to keep both riders speacly Edwards because he had take this sht of CRT bikes and now that thinghs go for better i think he had the right to at least play with the bike for one more year..

Good news: Forward Racing could potentially win a race.
Bad news: There might have been backdoor dealings stating that spec ECU is to be inferior to the factory standard. After all, software runs the show.

Translation- Yamaha are telling Forward Racing...

You can have 9 less engines than the rules will allow in this deal, and we'll overhaul them so you get (maybe) the equivalent number to play with as the factory stuff (5).

Only they won't be as good, and run an ECU we won't have any solutions for.

Plus, Yamaha will be retaining control of just how competitive and well-supported these motors are.

Tell me - WHY would forward think this was a good idea? Time to talk to Aprilia instead perhaps?

Electronics is where the money is , hardware without software is futile thats the reason Lorenzo can be so robotic with his lap times, i agree Aprilia is looking very competitive all they need is 15 to 20 HP.

It would be good if Yamaha could offer engines with the same physical dimensions for purchase (albeit with lower performance). This would attract more chassis builders and provide a entry platform for new riders.

What happens if an engine should prematurely decintegrate and isnt able to be rebuilt. Sorry guys contract says three engines only with two rebuilds. However if it can get them into the top ten then it maybe worth the risk. I feel this is the opportunity forward has been waiting for no point going to a radically different design now or suffer the equivalent of what Ducati is going through only in the CRT class.
With the Honda racer I see a certain Red manufacturer purchasing or borrowing one from somebody for a weekend or two to get some design inspiration especially if these can whoop Ducati's ass a bit like the ART's at the moment.

Seems to me that Yamaha can't afford to supply enough engines to meet the allowed allocation.

With Aprilia and 12 engines (assuming THAT could be afforded) then Aprilia could turn the wick up and get more prod out of them?

Extra shove, engines that has already been run on the standard ECU (on Laverty's PBM), 9 more motors and the extra fuel allowance could a very potent privateer bike make?

From the outside - looking at what Yamaha have on the table for Forward Racing looks to be frankly a bit $hit.

Clearly the numbers don't add up for a supplier or a team - I can see the potential for yet another dismal season for Forward with THIS package.

Of course... there's always the possibility that IF Yamaha supplied the 12 motors, the Team sussed the ECU and settings and utilised the extra fuel allowance well.... that 'prototype' factory Yamaha's could potentially be embarrassed on track by the privateer stuff?

Yamaha couldn't possibly allow THAT potential to be realised now could they?

Just like HRC's 'customer' bikes - having one of these puts your destiny in the hands of the Factory competition, and ensures your competitiveness is governed by your rival, and you'll NEVER succeed.

Teams need to RUN AWAY from ANY of this nonsense IMO and try to develop something WITHOUT Yam or HRC if they want the independence to actually try to RACE. Dorna - you've f*cked up as expected.
