How does Nicky not finish every PR sentence with a sigh? Surely he is tired of this PR nonsense by now? Oh well Nicky, as much as we love you, you chose that destiny and continue to do so. Stay positive, don't sigh and the paycheck will keep coming. Good luck mate, always thought you deserved better, but YOU chose it!

"My guess is that unless he manages to get himself stuck on the pig Panigale he'll surprise quite a few people in WSBK who've forgotten how much pace he has. "

Maybe you're right, but just 'cos he's an ex MotoGP rider who goes to WSB doesn't mean anything. Many MotoGP riders went to MotoGP and it wasn't as easy as they thought. Would love to see Nicky in WSB though. I think he'd enjoy it more (Melandri loves it and he won more races than Nicky). Edwards wouldn't win these days (although his battle with Baylis at Imola was sublime).

re: "it would be nice to go there, have some fun, and leave with a good taste in our mouths.”

in the event it doesn't work out (just a hunch), may i strongly suggest some Ono hawaiian bbq or Tri-Tip sammiches as a back up. in and out's overrated. there, mission accomplished.

Are they saying top 'four' finish?
If so then Nicky must have taken my advice and is riding a disguised CRT bike.
Anyway finishing fourth would mean that Dovi finished 3rd.

Not knocking Nicky, I'm a fan, but he has no chance and after getting the elbow by Ducati he should tell them to ride their own bike. If he's clinging on for a WSBK ride then he should check out Carlos's results.

I just hope that if he signs for a different manufacturer to ducati in either motogp or WSB before the end of the year we can start to hear what he really wants to say without thinking about the PR image for them

NH is a victim of the way MotoGP has turned into a 'done deal' where unless your face fits and you are on one of only 4 fully competitive bikes, then your career aspirations can never be realised.

Nicky's has only ever looked really outpaced by one teammate (since retired). Neither Vale nor Dovi have been able to blow him into the weeds on the same kit.

Which means the guy has speed. Imagine IF MotoGP had a sensible structure where a lot more bikes were even and capable of winning - he'd have an opportunity to demonstrate that pace in a fair n square competition.

Instead, he's circulated mid-pack with VR, but VR has the marketability to get a Yamaha, but Nicky can only get a slow bike or shown the door.

Personally I can't imagine the frustration of ANY MotoGP racer NOT on a factory HRC or Yam, let alone Nicky's seasons at Ducati. No wonder plenty of top guys are happy to ride WSBK where at least they might have a hope in hell of a competitive ride.
