well then thats game, set, and match for Yamaha. OR in other words, goodbye Honda. IF the Honda is basically on par with Yamaha as it is, then adding a seamless will add perhaps 0.1 per lap. Even having a rider the calibre of Marquez aint gonna change much. Honda are in big big trouble..

re: "You make one mistake and it costs the rider points but, what is more important is that it could cost you the rider, so Yamaha will not introduce it until they are 100% sure that it is working really well and faultlessly."

translation: we hope our first race with the new gearbox will be under the lights, Qatar 2014... we hope.

too many reading too much into the seamless gearbox , its not going to change much at all , all the box does is make exits from cornering a little smoother while at angle , it will damper any jitters that conventional boxes cause when moving up gears , it's not a turbo!! , if it was such a big deal like everyone thinks it is then honda would of won every race since its introduction.

tedG ... you would think that would amount to 2 secs going by mathematics , but racing just doesn't add up that way , unless you are out front with the open road you just might grab 2 secs over a race , but being behind others that .10 will mean nothing when you have ride behind someone and will be lost or even reduced to minus .10 when slowing to avoid hitting , all in all ,10 is only a reference mark , a bike can only navigate a corner so fast and everything depends on what a rider is capable of achieving with his abilities.

Whatever guys this seamless shift will atleast help yamaha guys to post more competitive qualifying laps,, that will be of a great thing for someone like Rossi who loses the race a day before the race.begins...

I don't think this will put te Hondas that far out of reach after this gearbox gets introduced but I also believe yamaha wouldn't spend so much time developing then hyping up something they're gonna introduce to the bike if it wouldn't make a diffwrence
