"I'm real happy I came here before because I'm not second guessing anything. I know where I'm going,” - Bradley Smith.

The paddock rumor is that Yamaha is putting pressure on Tech 3 to boot/sever the contract of under performing Bradley Smith.

Smart move. Lose Bradley keep Cal. Team Cal with Pol and let Cal and Pol fight over Vale's seat for 2015.

Bradley is doing well, first time out on a motogp bike at laguna and he is putting himself where he needs to be, i think in a couple of years time he could be where crutchlow is......he is a thinking rider who seems to develop his riding style to save for later in the race, he always comes through a couple of places at the end, now if he can do that in 3rd or 4th places in the next couple of years then it will be excellent for him

Wish all the best luck for him...everone learns at there own pace, just marquez is a genius and a maniac, thats the overshadowing factor

@H8R You are absolutely right. There are so many more talented riders. I believe Poncheral understands his misjudgement. But of course he will never let Smith down in public. Yamaha, whether factory or satellite riders, should be amongst the best in the would.

I'm not sure why people seem to have an issue with Bradley's performance. For his rookie season he's doing a good job. If his results/performance continues to improve in the second half of the season he will be doing well.
Is it just the Marquez factor? Because let's be honest, how many other riders are going to move up to MotoGP and perform as he has done?

@ guyhancock

Yamaha seem to think Pol Espargaro might.

I have my doubts on that myself, as Marquez is a true prodigy, but if Pol E. outperforms Smith when he moves up next year then it's game over for Bradley. Unfortunately BS has entered the class at a time when the bar for rookies is ridiculously high, and when factories are impatient to see results (as HRC are with Bradl). Steady progress isn't quite as valued as it once was.

At this point in the season Bradley is doing better than Crutchlow did in his first season and if it wasn't for Marquez he would be Rookie of the year.

I think most riders need time to get up to speed with motogp, next year Smith will show people they were wrong to write him off.

MotoGP is about the most competitive it has ever been. Instead of 2 or 3 top riders there are at least 5 now. For a Rider like Aleix Espargaro to be riding a CRT when he is often mixing it with the prototypes goes to show how hard it is to get a ride. For someone like Smith who has achieved little to be gifted a ride on a prototype just doesn't make sense.

He has had enough time to learn the ropes. Now it is time for him to start delivering.

I think the problem for Smith is that he came up through the Moto classes where you get to experience the majority of the tracks, riders, and the style that is required for MotoGP. So saying that Smith is doing better than Crutchlow during his rookie year is a bit misleading.

Personally, if Espargaro is definitely moving up to Tech3 then I would like to see Smith be dropped from his contract in favour of keeping Crutchlow.
