I was only thinking how interesting it would be to gauge Marc to Casey. Raw speed. Enough to rattle the others into breaking bits of themselves.
But, this just smacks of the brat messing with the other kids toys. Honda seem to be doing okay. Why not test for Ducati? Return the gift of a championship by helping them out of the dumps.
Oh, that's right, it's about Casey. (We are) Probably fed up with bringing a kid up already. Not enough publicity to blow against.

Great rider but not a good choice for a development rider as he is known for just riding around the problems.
As for him "definately not coming back" , we'll see, about a week before announcing his retirement he said that there was no truth in the rumour that he was retiring.

casey was quick
but
when he won on the ducati the bike used to pull 5+bike lengths on every other bike down the straight
it was a missile
in his final year on Honda he wasn't blitzing the opposition
so if he did come back i dont think there would be much difference other than 1 more rider with a shot of winning

Guess he got tired of sitting on a chair at 0mph with a stick on his hand instead of the drop handlebars...

Good news!!! hope he comes back... would be a dream line up of Stoner, dani, lorenzo, marc, Rossi, cal and the gang!!!!
Imagine what heated arguments we mere mortals would have on this page!!!!!!

You realise the reason it is beneficial for HRC is that they have a test rider that can ride at Alien speed, so therefore more helpful to the other 2 HRC 'Aliens' Instead of some average joe testing at 2-3 seconds a lap slower.

Things to remember :-
Casey said that he retired, not for his family, but because he felt that he didn't get the respect that his riding deserved. (which he didn't). Also that he didn't like the direction that MotoGP was going. Before that he said that he would quit MotoGP if they 'dumbed' the bikes down.

I would say that he has negotiated a 'testing' ride' because he, in his own words, is not enjoying retirement. Probably the tintops aren't doing it for him either.

@realfan
At last a decent comment “about this news article”!
Exactly realfan! Casey rode around the problems of the Ducati in 2007, and won them a World Championship...He would not be the best development rider for HRC, at any time...My thoughts, Casey Stoner had that rare competitive ability to psych out, rattle, other riders cages, defeat them even before the lights went out...I think Honda are not happy with all this back slapping Marc Marquez is doing with his competitors, it's all just too chummy chummy...IE Vale and Marc in parc ferme after Laguna Seca? The fact of the matter is Vale cut the course to pass Stoner in 2008 at Laguna Seca, and Stoner and his team let him know that...and Marc cut the course to pass Vale this year...yet they are playing like children after the race? That's not a competition...it's two boys playing race in the backyard...
