@V4Poweeer
I think you hit it right on the head what a way to enter GP with stoners bike AND crew take the crew away and get another one that does not know as much about the bike and I will guarrentee he would not be as good so quick no doubt though he is a very good rider,but I still say put JLO on equal machinery and he would not see which way he went.
@Ausrossi
Hey mate I keep asking but you never reply how is that Yam conspiracy going have you got to the bottom of it yet.

Stoner has not got the ablity to race cars at the highest level and he knows it.
He ultimately competitive and wants to be the best at everything.
Also hes likely jealous of Marc.

Why are Honda spending to get Casey testing? There are several reasons:

1. A tester can run motors and miles the GP guys can't, and Stoner is more than fast enough for his data to give them yet more advantages. Honda LOVE advantages & can afford to spend to get them.

2. Just like a Soap Opera, Dorna like to inject some drama into MotoGP to keep the fans watching and talking about MotoGP. What better way than to re-introduce the hero's (VR) nemesis? No? Well its got all the fans playing along & he ain't sat on one yet! Plenty of PR & Media mileage to be milked out of this one!

Cynical? Me? When it comes to the motivation for things that occur in MotoGP, then too right I am!

IMO the racers as well as the fans are being 'played' by the MotoGP establishment. CS is another (very talented) pawn in the game.

I doubt Stoner would be puppet for Dorna but if he is he's got me fooled. Though the Rossi vs Stoner thing gets played out so much cause as fans we have so much time between the races to argue who's better between ourselves and contemplate the hypothetical sisituations that didn't occur.
However just like superman needs Lex Luther, Lorenzo needed Pedrosa to beat and Rossi needed Biaggi then Stoner, then Lorenzo and now Marc but they seem to be friends. So Rossi in reality needed Stoner as much as Stoner needed him to make people remeber who they are.
But Pedrosa will be remembered by some as the best rider not to win the championship but he hasn't had a rivalry to remember.

Just think of the media and brand exposure created for Honda, Repsol and MotoGP (Dorna) in a single stroke by getting Casey Stoner back on a MotoGP bike.

In fact, testing is perfect. Get the punters interested, then we can have a bit of a cliff-hanger 'will he, won't he' Return, then there's loads of scope to REALLY drag it out before the answer is given. Media GOLD that is.

On top of the column inches and airtime all this will bring, HRC have the added bonus of a WC to thrape their 2014 factory and customer bikes and give his feedback - esp. on the compulsory ECU so that they gain loads of data to add to the Showa data Bautista is collecting on their Gresini Test Mule.

Honda can afford to buy workarounds to ensure THEY are the most successful marque in MotoGP, and don't mind HOW they use human resources & budget to buy success and exposure.

The reality is that Honda has spent a LOT of money on their 2014 bike but both Dani and Marc are sticking with the 2013 bike. They need someone who can help them get a return on their investment in the 2014 bike. Hopefully Stoner can pinpoint some things for them to work on. The test will be if and/or when either Dani or Marc elect to ride the 2014 bike in preference to the current one.

@codger
I have said it on here a hundred times every guy on the grid is there for one reason and thats money.stoner turned down 16 mil last year to ride, now I dont think they would offer him anything like that to test but they must have offered him a fair bit,he certainly would'nt be doing it for nothing,but if they want a rider that can take the bike to its limits and beyond then he definitly is the guy for that
