if the bike looks red walk away CAL.
69transam.

Amen to that!
I hope he doesnt get blinded by a big pay cheque.
The Ducati is a career killer.
I doubt they would even be able to coax Casey back to have another crack at it no matter how much wonga they offered him!

im just gonna throw this out there now......

What if.....and its a big WHAT IF, Cal could actually ride the red bike.

This is f***king nuts, Ducati have the backing of Audi.........I mean, what the hell is going on when a company - who KNOWS what a fast bike is, has more money than most on the grid (?) - well, enough money to knock a decent bike together and just produce what appears to be a complete pup......
say what you like about the G.O.A.T, but if he cant ride it, you know you got problems.

SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE HERE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

What if Cal signs the deal and ducati actually stumble across somehting quick......what then?

@ myselff

Bradl bashing on German TV? Even after Laguna? I'm surprised at that.

Wasn't Stefan complaining about his salary at LCR though? One quote has him saying he earned more in Moto2 than MotoGP.

If he's speaking to 5 different teams, then what are the other 2? the important thing is he has a bike for next year, that I am sure of (that he WILL have a bike). Best wishes to Cal.

This guy sure likes bumping his gums. He may very well get the Ducati seat(isn't that what he said last year?) but if anybody thinks he's the next Barry Sheene, they are dreaming. Dude is on the wrong end of his 20's to become a MotoGP champ.
Be thankful you are on a MotoGP bike. There are several guy's in WSBK that could easily replace you.

Seriously, if he is being guaranteed more factory support and better cash then stay with Tech3. I haven't read that anywhere else other than someones comments on here. If it is true stick with them, good team, well run and IF that extra support is there he won't get Colin Edwards treatment.
As for the Duke, big gamble, loads of cash...but a potential career killer. Think Scott Redding is also being lined up for this...hope he gets a good ride next year so he can prove his talent too :)

I think it's really funny that Cal is now the one that certain Crash members believe can ride the Ducati. He won't fare any better either!

It wasn't long ago that people claimed that Dovi would show us how it's done. It also wasn't long ago that Dovi made statements - and I paraphrase - "We need to thoroughly test the parts we have rather than make wholesale changes. We need to find the better way!" only to change his tune and request wholesale changes because the bike's issues can't be fixed with changes to set-up (..which is what Rossi was saying all along).

Ducati needs to build a new bike from the ground up. Cal will likely take the factory ride if offered (for the money), but he'll be immediately relegated to 6-10th place finishes.

Doubt Casey is coming back regardless of HRC test. In terms of Cals options it would make sense to stay at Tech 3. However don't be fooled he's already getting near factory support. But he's got an ego and I'd think he'd go to Ducati to replace outgoing Hayden who's been there too long. Cal won't do well though on the red bike. Can't see LCR getting rid of Bradl as he's done well. In terms of Suzuki they said they won't be back until 2015 hence a WSB option may be his second best route.

According to speedweek.com, the deal with Ducati is done and signing the contract is a mere formality, to be completed before Indy. The deal is reported to be 3m for a 2-yr contract

The article also claims that there was an HRC plan to move Cal into the Repsol squad for 2015 with Marquez. That plan now abandoned, apparently.

The article is in German but worth a read.
