I don't think Rossi would contemplate switching marque again. The only one he'd even consider worth it would be back to Factory Repsol/Honda (the real power in MotoGP), and I doubt they'd have him after their acrimonious split last time, plus the fact they have the golden child and pretender in MM already (who's connections and Repsol cash mean he ain't jumping ship anytime soon either).

Rossi is in the perfect position to KNOW that only 2 Factory Teams in all of MotoGP give him a chance at being a contender, and that THAT fact isn't going to change under the current Dorna mismanagement - cos it CAN'T logically.

IMO Rossi is either on a Factory M1, or he's left MotoGP in 2015.

@Nakasone,

The 2012 Honda was far from recalcitrant, yet 2 other riders won more races than #27 that year (one was on the same bike)....

...so in answer to your question "what about #27?" I would say...what about #27!

@therealdave
I won't argue with you on how recalcitrant the 2012 honda is, but the fact is that it had not negated his success in conquering the recalcitrant duke, the bike that tamed the flamboyant $46.

lets assume he had best of the machinery throughout all his career but still one got to finish races and he did it 70 odd times on the top step of the podium ......so give the credit where its due....stoner ,lorenzo have never defended their title successfully being on the best bikes...

re: "but the fact is that it had not negated his success in conquering the recalcitrant duke"

5 times upside down in the gravel in one season with gas pouring out the tank is SOOO not a "conquer". it sure as hell doesn't win any championships, which is what we're all here for, right...? NATCORK was just a theory for years well before the VR46 era in fact, it wasn't until stoner's (i'm gettin' the hell outta dodge) departure for Honda, that it finally got written it into the law books. his contributions have been invaluable.

ok, with crutchlow's move to the duc, we will now see further reinforcement of "The Law". and before you go there... just know, the end result would be same if MARC MARQUEZ were to (by some bizarre twist of misfortune) find himself on the current spec duc. that's the beauty of laws, they are iron-clad no matter where you go in the universe.

Vale will not stay at Yamaha beyond this contract. This is the ride Cal should have been targeting, if not have received. One more year at Tech 3 he would have been in pole position to replace Vale at a proper "factory" team

Highly unlikely but what if Rossi does not improve once the missing two leaders are back, what if he is always 4 or 5th would Yamaha dump him at the end of 2014?

He claims the M1 is his bike but so far can only beat a rookie and a broken team mate when the other fella is also suffering

Like I said doubt it, you wouldn't want to be the team that sacked Rossi but would you keep him if MM was available ?

Would you dump Lorenzo in 2014 even if he had the results?
