I have to assume Phil's duties mean he doesn't have time to watch BBC over a MotoGP weekend. Its not just the commentary thank is poor, the whole package has deteriorated over the years since 2003 and its now appalling. Virtually no publicity in the press or their own publication (RT) and no program listings. Squeezed in wherever, RedButton, Streaming, whatever channel. Minimal time before/after start time of practice/race for coverage. Commentary already mentioned. Eurosport do a far better job.

People are complaining about it going to BT because it's not going to be free, but from whats been said at least there will be full live coverage of all the practices and programmes looking at behind the scenes of it all. With all the other sports BT have bought there will be plenty of people ordering it who then might start to watch MotoGP.

Disagree with Baker that Suzuki made a good move to come back in 2015 instead of next year. If the bike is as good as they say then why not have one rider while you continue your r&d in 2014 then expand team as you've improved the bike in '15. This allows you to build data on tracks and allows your rider to see how it competes against the best bikes to give you more development direction.

While I agree the motoGP race commentary team at the BBC is poor, for moto2, moto3 and all practice sessions (which are all shown in HD incidentally) the commentary is the same on BBC and Eurosport.

BT Sport is available on the sky platform and now Virgin as well. And it is free if you are a BT broadband user. If anyone watches Eurosport, you are already paying as part of the sky/virgin package and probably extra to get HD. And again, all the practice sessions are currently available on the BBC in HD so unless we end up with more pre-race waffle (30 mins at present except for Laguna Seca) there won't be a great deal of change.
