re: "Rookie Marc Marquez fired a further warning shot to his title rivals with a peerless performance in opening practice for the Indianapolis MotoGP."

and so it begins.

re: "First to fall this weekend was Karel Abraham, who highsided from his Cardion AB Aprilia after ten minutes."

and so it begins.

Marc looks unstoppable... Not concluding on dani now because he will improve even if not when the red light goes off he'll crack into top three in the launch to first corner because he is like a lightning off the line...

@guna
Pedrosa is usually a good starter but that counts for nothing. Go to youtube and search for Marquez motegi 2010 and see what happens when MM starts from the back (well, after trying to start in neutral...). I think its about 20 places by the 4th corner. Now that's fast starting!

Is only Fp1 but we have to say from what i wach USA have 3 of the most tuff and tecnical tracks to ride one Motogp..!! From the 3 i really think that Austin must be the most tecnical and dificult track of the year and Marquez has been rocking at this tracks, he won Austin, Laguna and now lets see what happen here.. this kid is really a pain for any World Champion..lol

@NikonMike - LOL :D ... I agree 100%

They all said he had a specially tuned bike yet his bike had a slower top end down the straight. Which meant Marquez was doing special stuff in the corners to do what he did. He did pass guys on the straights, but he was slip streaming them. We can see this year how special Marquez is. Even Rossi is impressed :)

yeah Marc had no problems slip streaming them, sadly none of the other riders could slip stream marquez down the straight.

queue - but he had slower trap speeds. nonesense, he was just getting to the sensor quicker than other guys before he had time to approach their same velocities :)

equals much much better acceleration, just look at how he zoomed past people in 125 and Moto2 backmarkers, pretty ridiculous disparity in speed.

go watch some of the fastest quarter mile traps and you will see the fastest times have a slower velocity at the end of the straight. That has a lot to do with the gearing and the power of his motor, and a useful thing called integration (calculus).
