What this shows is that even though he is older than the other guys he is able to pick up the pace and run down and pass another fast guy from over 5 seconds back. Too bad the tires didn't go off sooner. But then again he has always been good when the tires go off. The setup is killing him, hopefully they will get it dialed in. There is still plenty of excitement left in Rossi.

Business as usual for Rossi, "fighting" with riders on inferior kit.

Without MM, JL and DP way out in front taking the actual podium spots, it would have been one of Rossi's greatest ever races, comming from so far back in "3rd" to take the "win"

Some ******* bastards will never accept the actual happening,,
When he fails they come first to bash him...
When he improves they act over smart or over perfect...

Aren't you just getting amazed by him,, later half of race when tyres go off everybody faced pace drop but this man was dropping his time and that's just incredible....

@BJR,

. . .and clearly there is no disadvantage to starting 9th on the grid?

Lets scrap qualifying, bikes line up together across the line and simply have 2 races, one on the Saturday and one on the Sunday and then combine the 2 results to determine the placings.

Whilst sarcastically highlighting the lack of thought in BJR's post, I may have stumbled onto a great format???

Come on guys, we all know there are only 4 bikes that are good enough to be realistically fighting for the win, and Rossi is on one of them. For him to be so far back and just get to 4th is pretty laughable when as others have said, he is getting beaten by two guys with broken bones and a rookie (the rookie is doing a great job though). Just be honest, he's not performing as well as you all hoped he'd be and stop trying to make excuses for him. When he was on the ducati all we heard from Rossi fans was how if he had the yamaha he'd be showing everyone how its done, and winning races regularly. Well he's on the yamaha and he's been pretty disappointing, even he admitted that, so why cant you?

I don't understand that just because it's Rossi it's ok that he finished 4th. Why is it ok to be so far behind the top 3?

It annoys me because 4 riders competing for 3 podium positions would be so much more fun. With only 3 riders, they just tend to settle down knowing they have a guaranteed podium.

To say Rossi has been anything but sub standard is delusional. I'm a huge Stoner fan, but since I don't follow anyone now. I would love some excitement at the front. I actually want Rossi to be battling for the wins, creating havoc among the front trio. In fact I predicted that he would be doing just that before the start of the season.

Forgive me if I'm just a little disappointed. Now I know how people felt in 2007. (except Catalunya :)

Yeah yeah silly haters were wishing he had got beaten by the sat bikes, now they're all butt hurt up in here. "Only 4th" After riding the wheels off it from the bottom of the third row taking no prisoners closing down a huge gap taking two more spots on the last lap. Rossi put on another great show today. Suck it haters! Everybody loves Rossi because of the fight he shows, always been that way and it can't be faked.

Oh pleeaase!

We all know that there are many variables in racing (grid position at start, health/fitness, tire degridation, temprature etc. etc.) that will impact the finishing positions and times.

Yes, VR's results are less than I was hoping for but more importantly, less than he was hoping for. Does this make him a failure?

If not getting the results you had hoped for is the measure, then all but Marc have failed I would suggest, wouldnt you?

Go Vale! ! ! 10 races gone and the "talentless fraud" is still there just 23 points shy of the top 3 (and current WC).

Just 23 points after 950 have been allocated ! !

Rossi was the really only highlight of the film ,... I mean race. Sure Marc tried showing off by sliding his bike at the end, but Rossi fought for what he earned and he didnt need to punt Dovi off the track to get it :)

Kudos to the one and ONLY magician of MotoGP.
