re: "Seven time MotoGP champion Valentino Rossi says that he has never seen a rookie like Marc Marquez - in any form of motorsport."

that's simply because when Kenny and Freddie were racing he was either not born yet...? or still in nappies...?

As I have said previously, this guy is something else. We are witnessing something very special every time he races. Awesome. As for people trying to compare him with others, just look at what he has already done this year, and combine that with what a true legend (Rossi) has to say about him, and that will put things in perspective.

MM is miles ahead of Rolling Stoner. as son as he raced on a track with some curves where he couldn't push the Ducati down a long straight it was whine whine whine.

now only consistency will tell if MM will become a true legend. Time is on his side though.

There's a small difference between Rossi's and Marquez's rookie years: It's called a 500 two-stroke. I bet not many people here actually know what this means but today's 4-stroke bike with the ultra-evolved electronics has absolutely nothing to do with the learning curve of a vicious 500 2-stroke. Nobody learned how to properly ride that thing without a good bunch of high-side crashes first. Which would normally mean no chance on a first-outing championship.
