MikkyG...."when Lorenzo was unable to win (injured) all of a sudden Rossi was able to beat Marquez convincingly... "

You have my vote on that . Thats realy strange and imagine this out:

@ Fan

I don't Rossi, with the passion hes' got and the wealth he's already accumulated, is riding around just to make some bucks and he's keeping his mouth shut because of money.

I still believe the most likely scenario is:

1. Rossi lost something with age (but possibly not as much as to make it impossible for him to ride with the top3 on most tracks)

2. M1 doesn't suit perfectly is late braking style and it's very hard to set it up in a way with which he can express himself at his best

3. Yamaha find it difficult to channel enough resources to develop and set up perfectly both its bikes (but they're under-servicing the 2nd bike on purpose).

Qatar and Assen had nothing to do with Yamaha riders dominating Honda riders. It had to do with temps and Hondas trouble when its hot. Both of their riders struggled in FP, QP and the races. This is Yamaha's major advantage (or Honda's only disadvantage) and hopefully it helps them a little during the rest of the season since the RCV is clearly better in cooler weather

If Jorge wasn't hurt in Assen the result would have been the same as in Qatar, stretching out a lead in the first half and maintaining a comfortable pace and gap for the rest of the race

@Podster,

Rossi has not dominated or even been a force for 3 years now yet the amount of posts on any thread, bashing him just shows how he owns the heads of a lot of posters (yours included).

I'm not sad mate, I just give as good as others do. The difference is that I (general) have the stats on my side. That seems to urk a lot of bashers. . . why?

Don't bother responding, it will be baseless, pointless and just full of hate.

Without Rossi there won't be that much charm in the motogp. He is able to fight with younger riders with the yamaha which is inferior to Hondas and his team mate Lorenzo. Alvaro has better pace and setup marginally better than Rossi, but due to his abilities and race craft skills Rossi won the battle with Alvaro and Cal for the last 3 races successfully. He himself stated his machinery needed improvements to compete with top 3. Rossi need to fix his bike, once after that he can very well compete with the top 3 spaniards. Hope Rossi will get the set up break through in San Marino.

I think Joeski has been mostly correct in his posts. But I would like to add that maybe the bike after being developed for JL doesn't have enough adjustments to get it right for Rossi's style. Or JB just isn't with the program anymore. The Yamaha is a finicky beast, once dialed it is great. But that bike is now designed for high corner speed, NOT late braking and changing lines mid corner like it used to be.
Lets fact it if Rossi was too old he would be struggling in the second half of the race, not the first.
