"The Moon landings were fake,Titanic wasnt Titanic,Princess Diana was murdered and Elvis is working in a burger bar in Albuquerque! "

@hoppy,

you forgot vale blocked stoner from yamaha, 2012 tires & weight changed to stop stoner, stoner can ride around any problem and stoner could jump on current ducati and still win races.

We have indeed heard a lot of conspiracy theories and out right crap on this site but please leave Diana and Elvis out of it.

Plain and simple...Rossi is struggling!! The obvious reason is that the M1 is not the same as when he left. He cannot use his old data and continue where he left off. He cannot use JL's data and run at the front they are 2 different riding styles.

Rossi still got it. His weakness is that he does not adapt well... to new tracks or new bikes!! He is happy with fourth because he never did well at Silverstone!!

With yamaha in 2004 he had UNLIMITED testing so was able to adapt to the bike before the season began although Honda blocked his ability to test the Yam directly after Valencia.

If Yamaha focus development on the problems Vale is having then we will see a better performance next year...hell maybe with the seamless transmission we might see a giant bump...he seems really excited to use it. Anyway that development will not come at the expense of Lorenzo. So I do not know how they will handle development next year.

I find it hard to understand why Rossi cant keep up with the top3 in the first 10 laps or so every GP...and than keep producing the same lap times with the top3 in later part of races...as a fan its really frustrating to see this bcoz its hapening all the time!!!
You would think the next race this will nt happen but it does..

The opposite is always the case with every other rider...
Can anyone offer a solution??....right or wrong..

Rossi definitely does not lack fighting spirit nor the desire to win. I do not believe that he "suddenly" lacks the ability when he convincingly beat MM and Dani at Assen in this season.

He is wrestling with the characteristics of the bike. I am sure this can affect his confidence but he seems to know the problem although how to resolve them may be another issue of development parts/supply.

For him, Yamaha may need a new design which may affect JL if they did that and unfortunately you usually go with your current winner (and the world champ, no less). Honda would go multiple directions...they did that with Casey, Dani and Dovi to give each what they wanted but Yamaha does not have the same pockets!

So I am hopeful but time will tell.

Joeski.
there is nothing wrong with the development of the bike , he is riding it good and its not throwing him off , we can go about writing down all the reasons we want as to why he isn't at the front , but only one reason is actually required , the others are not a little faster than him , they are an awful lot faster than him , and they maintain that awful speed all race long , jlo showed all that you don't need the bike moulded around yourself to win races from the times he joined yamaha and rode the bike designed with vales feedback.

Its surely (mostly) setup causing the issues. He keeps saying once the rear tyre wears out he finds it easier to chuck the bike into the corners hence why his lap times are good in the 2nd half of races. Worrying thing is they havent managed to sort it by now so chances are he needs a new chassis or something major.

I think that the point we are all missing is the fact that Vale is riding very well But that yamaha is just not competitive with the honda and the only reason jorge manages to put that bike up there is because he really is that good. I dont think any other rider in the world right now could do what jorge is doing. What are you opinions on this?

@ dacron...
Correct... JL can ride anything is my belief!! I do not believe Rossi can do the same or rather he needs everything tailored and once that happens he will be quick. Rossi needs to find approx .5 secs per lap on fresh rubber. He obviously has the pace toward the end so his other issue is set up or bike characteristics on new rubber (probably why he also cannot qualify better with fresh rubber and high grip).

PS I never said there was anything wrong with bike development!! but the characteristics of the bike under current development most likely is directed toward Lorenzo. Rossi had zero input into this version of the M1 coming from Ducati last year.

I am not making excuses but it is difficult to convince me that the same dude that battled to second in qatar and a win in Assen (quite possibly Mugello as well) suddenly does not have the ability!! also when his lap times at the end all season is on par with the front runners (although not as close here at Silverstone.. a tra
