Next year, when Espargaro gets beaten by Smith, on arguably equal machinery, and throws the usual temper tantrum, people will be saying it is just his rookie year and pointing at Crutchlow's and Smith's first years. That does not apply to Smith, of course. He should have been winning races like all the other rookies. Oh, wait.

@MotoGPmole
"He's currently 11th in the championship with 66 points, and crutchlow finished 12th with 70 points at the end of his rookie year. "

There were 17 prototypes in Cal's rookie year, so finishing 12th means he had only managed to defeat FIVE other prototypes that year. Yeah, It was dismal performance and many thought he should leave the GP and go back to SBK right away

Smith? Oh, his rookie year has definitely been much more successful than Cal's!!! There're EVEVEN prototypes and he's ranked ELEVENTH..... Oh, dear..., He can be proud of it. LOL
