what we have seen can not be unseen.
whether you hate casey or love him won't change what has already been done and dusted , whether he is better than rossi or not won't change anything either , the fact that the majority of his career was on the ducati and during that stint he was considered an alien and a forever threat at each race stands as history , thats a bike no one can even ride , he put honda back on the map and with only 2 years on it his help has made the bike the best in the series.
calling him names and spouting stats that were raked up before he arrived in the top class won't erase what he achieved while he was there , love him or hate him but he was the most succesful rider of his time in the top class and most of it raked in on the ducati.
go ahead and continue to belittle one of motogp's greatest riders , it won't change a thing.
stoner as a tester will keep honda and MM on top for years to come...watch.

@ Dacron....A good post as usual.

"......love him or hate him but he was the most successful rider of his time in the top class and most of it raked in on the ducati."
Did you mean race wins only, because Jorge was the most successful overall?

imo I wish he hadn't retired but I certainly don't want to see him back. Comebacks never work and the risk of damaging his legacy is too great.

Btw..without the obvious mechanical advantage of the Duc 2007 and the mechanical failures of the Yam 2006 those would definitely have been Valentino's Championships also.

EDIT by CRASH.NET! Inappropriate comments removed. No need for poster attacks.

What inappropriate comment?
RFS131 is insinuating that Val WOULD have won the 2006 and 2007 titles had things gone differently.
I argued that THAT argument could apply to anyone!
Where was the poster attack?

Codger.
i'm taking on a huge headache right now and thinking isn't really fitting into it , nor is my memory clicking in.
if jlo was the most successful from 08 to 2012 can you give me a whack in the head as to how that is.
not disputing your claim , genuinely have a huge headache that's numbed my senses big time.

@Codger I agree. It didn't really work for Freddy, but I don't think there's any interest from Stoner. I don't think he cares anymore. Insofar as this site is representative of motoGP fans, you certainly would't consider them wants in making a decision to keep racing if you were Stoner. Especially when you can rock up to a private track and, weather permitting, put the latest piece of technical weaponery through its paces, discuss the results with the team, have an expensive dinner, and head home. For a few days work, you can probably bank enough to get through a whole year. Sounds like a dream job. No wonder these "fans" are so jealous of him.
Anyway, why wouldn't Honda want his input? He's the only rider in history to win at every track he raced at over his premier class career. Of the current lot, Marquez is the only one who could threaten that.

Hey guys relax. Casey left motogp because he didn't like the way it was being run and the direction it was going in. Also to spend time with his family. Respect.
For those small-minded folk who come here to try belittle his achievements, remember. He was the fastest of his era according to other riders, commentators, team principles and genuine enthusiasts. If you didn't like the way he came across, that's your problem.

How is it that a news "story" about a non-test test generates over a hundred comments about a rider that most of the posters hate?
In the words of the great Barry S: "I don't get it, I really don't" (direct quote from one of the Fast Bikes videos... Wheelies...)

Dani is going nowhere for at least another year.He is contracted till the end of 2014.
But if he fails to deliver the goods next season?
I think Mr Lorenzo could well be waiting in the wings.

As for Casey returning to Motogp.
Nah.Not going to happen.
