@ rdc

"I" didn't make the comparison, pcxmac did. I only commented on the comparison. Being on a factory bike is irrelevant, as is "how" the podium or win came to be.

@ RSMick

WHO was using Rossi in a positive sense? Pcxmac? You've been around long enough. You know better than that. :)

Elias always frustrated the hell out of me in MotoGP. He really did seem to blow cool until 'contract time' when he'd pull a blinder out of the bag and get another year on a Satellite Honda off the back of it, only to then traipse around in mediocrity again.

I always loved his hang-off style, and seeing it in person at Mugello in 2007 was great to watch and looked even better.

I know he never got the full factory ride, so wins & WC's were always a fantasy (that 2006 win was truly a great ride IMO). Also, we can't know (just like now) just how much more some guy's were getting than others - even so, overall Toni came across to me as an under-achiever in the end & was in the MotoGP class for more seasons than his performances merited.

I will watch with interest though to see how he goes on a WSBK, and would be happy to see him do well there.

@ rdc

Please save me the drivel. One COULD argue that Elias' non-factory bike back then was/is better than the current factory Ducati, and if you re-read what I actually said, you'll notice that my comment was in relation to "HOW" a win or podium is/was achieved, and that the status of the bike was of no concern in that discussion.

@ TalentFan

Fine verbiage there my friend. "Traipse around in mediocrity"...well said.
