3 bad years never make Rossi an ordinary rider... Look at what he did in the entire last decade, astonishing isn't? kept the most dominant honda in bay for 7 long years while riding for yamaha which was and is still inferior to honda in many ways...
His consistency speaks for itself,, in a long carrier spanning over a decade, only one crash (mugello 2010) out of the several stopped him from starting a race, this tells us volumes.about his mind set and approach, he was never a win it or bin it kind of rider...
Rossi throughly deserves to be in that elite group alongside Ago and Mike...

@ Guna

3 bad years? I can only remember 2 "bad" years (and bad ONLY because of Rossi's caliber....his WC placement wouldn't be seen as "bad" had he not been a multiple WC winner previously). If you're including this year as a bad year, well, I'd have to disagree.

ago raced for 11 years and won 15 crown. 8 in premier class (multiple crown per year)

rossi racing now for 17years and won 9 crown. 7 in premier class (one crown per year)

if riders are allowed to race every class in a single day, if they want, i think many riders can beat that record.
