No-one will ever match him? They said that about Hailwood, Ago, Spencer, Doohan, and Rossi. There is always another riding God. MM may well reign for years, but equally he could pick up injuries and be history within two seasons. Or might take up the Spanish equivalent of fishing :) I doubt he would be so aggressive with a bull!

As for none of this matters, well actually it matters a great deal. Whatever the rights or wrongs of what MM did and whether it should be investigated we are talking about the lifes of these guys. That always matters and its only through the dogged determination of pioneering individuals that bike racing is a safe as it is. These folks have typically been unpopular because they change things (Jackie Stewart being a brilliant example, he might be car racer, but we benefit from safer circuits that he pioneered). Tough job being a steward.

Racing incident IMO and a very sad end to Dani's title challenge.

Does that mean Vale is going to see out his racing days at Suzuki?

His Yamaha contract has another year to run and Pol is waiting in the wings for that seat...

Espargaros must have some pretty damn good contacts. Aleix doing a great job now, but got his first ride in MotoGP with a lower classes record that was a shadow of Bradley Smith's, and look at the stick Smith gets for apparently not deserving his ride (although he stepped up his performance today).

As some have already stated, it was a racing incident but it doesn't change the fact that it was caused by Marquez.
On one of the replays you could quite clearly see the back end of Pedrosa's bike twitch just as Marquez snagged the wire, if he hadn't made contact (no matter how slight) Pedrosa wouldn't have crashed so I'm really not sure how anybody can say it was Dani's own accident.

Realfan, I don't think anybody really thinks it is Dani's fault. However, there is and always will be contact in Motorcycle racing, some hard some not hard. In fact the contact between Redding and Pol in M2 was a lot harder. If you place sensors in such a vulnerable position, then you can expect problems, a stone thrown up could have caused the same issues. Unfortunate but you can' blame either of them.
