One other thing no-one else seems to have mentioned...

The rider aids and electronics allow riders to be on the absolute LIMIT of the package all the time.

Marquez takes this and then stirs in an extra portion of running close, grazing and glancing off other bikes/riders, and making holes where there aren't any. And he does this a LOT.

So we have to bear in mind that when there is NO spare margin of performance, lean angle or grip (as the electronics are maximising them) that the consequences of even a minor collision can send the package OVER 100% and what it can manage.

This is likely to result in a MASSIVE CRASH.

1. It is a fallacy to state electronics are ultimately increasing safety, if you use them to ensure you're faster on more on the limit everywhere.
2. Marquez is very likely to be the cause of a MASSIVE CRASH.

I like the aggression shown by Marquez but he should be punished as he's lucky that Pedrosa didn't get seriously hurt plus at Pedrosa's pace he had a good chance of winning that race until he was torpedoed by Marquez. Shame Dani has no luck but bad luck.

In line with my earlier 'education' theme...

MM seems completely unconcerned despite his many incidences and seems to have no care at all. Why? Cos he has nothing to fear, that's why. He is untouchable. The only time I have ever seen MM look scared or even mildly concerned was actually off-track.

Anyone else recall the look on MM's face when Cal grabbed him in Parc Ferme podium circle after their coming-together and near-crash last-lap?

MM nearly shat himself until Cal grinned at him! You could see for a moment there that MM thought CC was going to plank him - and he was properly scared!

What am I on about? Slaps on the wrist ain't gonna scratch the surface of this kid's arrogance. Its going to take something that really HURTS him before there's ANY chance he'll exercise a touch more restraint IMO.

Talentfan the electronics allows riders to ride beyond their limits and does reduce accidents but not eliminate them from excessive rider error or other rider errors. Without electronics races would be closer and rookies would not likely be leading any championships on their first year in Motogp and they'd take longer to adapt.

@ RossiFan704

Willairot retired this year yes. As a result of never being able to fully recover from being torpedoed by Marquez, he never regained the form and performance he had (and he was GOOD and getting better too).

Ratapak came back to racing after overcoming his injuries, but retired in 2013 as it became fully apparent he wasn't going to be able to ride anything like as well as his pre-crash form.

It may not have been immediate retirement, but MM effectively ended RW's career the day he careered into him.

Talentfan I totally agree with your last remark. Marquez at this point feels he's invincible as many youngsters feel until gravity hits back. The higher the risk the likely hood of this happening sooner than later increases. But no doubt the kid has lots of talent. I wonder who'll he'll take out next.
