Dani is right.His best chance was last year and it was a real chance.
The problem he faces now is Marc is only going to gain confidence,especially if he lifts the title this year at his first attempt.
But thats a problem everyone on the grid faces now,not just Dani!

I think if MM wins this year, it'll take the pressure of #26 next year as everyone will expect MM to slaughter him. Then he'll be proper quick again. Look how much happier, and quicker he was after resigning the WC at Aragon.......

It's all very well winning when the title is effectively over, But when the title is there to be won the other top guys seem to be able to get the best of Dani. I think Silverstone and Brno were the critical races for Dani this year if he was going to mount a title challenge, and he ended up being 3rd at both races despite being within striking distance of the lead for large sections of both races, for some reason he never mounted a serious challenge. There's a history of this with Dani, like way back in 2007 when Rossi and Stoner had an epic battle at Barcelona and Dani was right there as well, but didn't attack once. He has to get some more mongrel in him if he is ever going to win a title.

@Nate44

Yep he really blew that chance in 07 when he didn't have a slight chance, or 08 when it wouldn't have mattered after Michelin disaster or again in 09 when the Honda was nowhere (and left his teammate for dust). Or 11 when he was out with a busted collerbone.

He has only had 2 or 3 real chances with the gear given to him

Nate and Desh,i agree with both of you to a degree.
Yes Dani has had many chance on the Honda without bringing home the silverware.But he is a consistent point scorer and i am not sure who would replace him and do a better job if Honda decided to let him go.
Unless of course they try to poach Jorge away from Yamaha.
What Dani needs to do more often is show his teeth.We know he can do it,he just needs to do it more often.The way to beat Marc is to play him at his own game.A little fairing rubbing may be in order as long as it doesnt get out of hand!

Also over all those seasons, the only times Dani has been beaten by a teammate.

06 rookie year, and a pretty darn strong one vs a competitive grid.
11 Stoner walking on water and Dovi only just beating him dispite Dani missing 3 rounds (+ the DNF at Le Mans), also winning 3 races to Dovi's 0.

So its hardly like Honda had better choices up into very recently. If you put say Bradl or Redding on Dani's bike next year, would they get better results, I doubt it.

If Dani gets another contract at the end of the year, is a big question thou. I suspect he will
