"I am very pleased to be just over 0.2s from the front row" - Bradley Smith.

I've believed in him from the start, he is massively underrated by the public, yeah is never going to be like Marques but how many of them are about! He gets faster & Faster every weekend & He has the talent to fight for the podium each week once he gets to his maximum during 2nd half of next season.

I have to admit I was one of the doubters at the beginning of the season but Bradley has made steady progress, continues to improve and has done better than most folk expected, me included.
For sure it has helped having Crutchlow take the spot-light off him and equally he will never be at the level of Marquez (who is?) but nevertheless if he continues to improve he could be up there with Bradl, Bautista & Rossi next season.

Anyone who has taken the time to look at Smith's performance this season will know that he is moving up the learning curve as a rookie should. Herve must have seen something and Smith is rewarding his faith. Let's hope he continues, because he should be in the mix with Bradl, Bautista and Hayden next year.

Only the bandwagoners were doubting Bradley at the beginning of the season, it was clear he had something when he was racing in 125s.

That said, he will only be as good as what is given to him, you cannot ignore physics, and unfortunately he will be hard press to put in to the top 6 when Honda are getting the better end of the tires this year.

Bradley is rubbish and will be at least 20+ seconds behind the winner tomorrow.

He will never make the podium unless everyone ahead of him are either injured none-starters or fall off.

Where would Bradley be if Bradl was riding, and if:

1. Dovi was on an equally competitive bike?
2. Hayden on an equally competitive bike?
3. Iannone on an equally competitive bike?
4. Espagaro on an equally competitive bike?
5. De Puniet on an equally competitive bike?
6. Hernandez on an equally competitive bike?
7. Barbara on an equally competitive bike?

Why would you expect a Rookie on a second tier satellite bike to end up on the podium? Even the massively experienced Dovi on the first tier T3 bike didn't manage it that often. It's also now late in the season and the T3 bikes will have fallen further behind the Hondas.

LOL, so the highlight of his season is qualifying 7th at a race where Bradl is out injured & the Ducati's are running detuned lawnmower engines to try see the end of the season!?

So what if he's 'close to the front row' ... in reality he's nowhere near it. Phillip Island is "close" to Melbourne, but you wouldn't want to swim it. It's all relative.
