At the very least, I find the pit stop thing pretty interesting, but IMO, it's a Band-Aid making up for the fact that Bridgestone royally screwed up when it comes to this circuit. At least it affects everyone equally, more or less

Its clear that the rules are inadequate, and the organisers, teams and tyre suppliers are pitifully under-prepared.
I honestly believe that either the race should be shortened to 10 laps or called off completely in the interests of safety.
If someone dies as a result of this pathetic attempts to wring as much "value" out of this event as possible then it could kill the sport.
58 is always reserved, des anyone really want to see a grid without 99, 26, 93 or 46 ever again? Not me.

A 10 lap race with a wet bike in reserve is safe, this godawful formulamotogp hybrid is nothing but asking for tears, candles, and a minutes silence.

BS really made a total mess up job with newly resurfaced phillip island circuit,, but I was happy to a little extend because their mistake caused mandatory pit stop bike swap which would be new and interesting for motogp as teams would work like crazy to manage situations... But reducing the number of laps further more is really frustrating,, now it looks like mother nature have also decided to mess up even more with possibility of rain...

Not sure if many saw it on TV, but Loris Capirossi has said they may change one of the two winter tests at Sepang to Phillip Island.

Good idea.

The riders have said the new surface is great as the grip levels and speeds are so high, but it's creating so much heat and the tyers can't last.

How safe do I feel with Bridgestones on my own bike ?

Would be crazy if a CRT wins tonight.
Oh with just 19 laps the guys might go over their head in the start, Hormiga take it easy, the human bowling ball might jump into action.

Major screw up by all dorna, bridgestone and dunlop. This is probably all to blame on on prohibitive testing rules a test or two earlier in the year could have given everyone a heads up well before this screw up occurred.
