Probably an eighth had MM & SB figured, however, great starts from Bradley and nice to see him in front of Cal for a little while. Bit more race craft and Cals bike next year may see more improvements. Well done!

Ah, the peace. Must be cos there's a lot of Trolls grumbling away under a lot of bridges, cos there's no muck for them to sling. Saddos - never mind, I'm sure there'll be some thing for you to seize on to be negative about soon.

Brad is doing alright. Bet Cal would love to be able to launch & start like this lad, cos if he could have he'd have been on the box instead of Vale yesterday, as he'd have been in front instead of scrapping (probably, maybe).

I don't hold out too much hope for Bradders getting equal kit in 2014 with Pol though, cos Pol's Yam contract undoubtedly demands priority for parts over BS's T3 contract. They MIGHT start 2014 equal - MIGHT.

Cracking start! Shame he couldn't stay coser to the guys in front, but not sure how much time he lost in the pits. Strong results required in the last two to launch confidently into next year when he will need to be up with the second tier teams. And there are more of them coming with the production bikes. All to play for.

"Smith has improved through out this season, but if one was to be critical he needs to close the gap to the race winner."

Same old arguments apply. IF MotoGP wasn't multi-tired with multiple levels of equipment & support.....

THEN we could know that Smith's BIKE & PACKAGE had the potential to be up there with Jorge & The Honda's. Ergo it would mean that Smith is the weak link and simply not pedalling it to the max.

But MotoGP IS multi-tiered, and there IS a vast discrepancy between what the 'Aliens' get to pedal around and the CRT's, with everyone else SOMEWHERE (& we can't know exactly where that is) in between.

So we cannot know just how good anyone truly is anyone else - cos the politics, budgets, specifications, electronic intervention, equipment, team etc. cloud the issue.

This (sadly) is what makes MotoGP pointless for racing fans.

But.... IF we are making assumptions (Note: Not Facts cos we DON'T HAVE FACTS), then.....

Given that The Factory bikes are best (4), then the 2 works-factory supported satellites are next-best (AB & SB's HRC-works Honda's), then Cal's semi-works Yamaha, then...

Even disregarding the Factory Dukes that SUGGESTS that (with all the above finishing) that the VERY BEST finish for that bike is potentially EIGHTH.

On the basis of all that guesswork and reasoned conjecture, then Smith is doing a decent job battling with (& finishing ahead of) the Dukes for the finishes he's getting.

Certainly there's enough there to suggest the damned Trolls should stay under the bridges and shut up.
