I don't rate Casey Stoner as being one of the best riders ever! He won 2 titles and could ride a Ducati, but just wait until Marc Marquez has been in MotoGP for a few years and Stoner will be a forgotten man!

Anyone else read Mat Oxley's article with Mike Webb from MotoGP in Bike magazine?

Summary. Honda LOVES technical restrictions cos it plays fully to their huge R&D and Budget resources and gives them unassailable advantages (this from ex-racer MW).

Basically he's saying that the current situation is nuts. Which as many will know is just what I've been saying for AGES.

Yamaha are struggling badly with a 21L fuel allocation. If the 20L & 5 engine rules are kept for Factories, then MotoGP will be awful unless you're Repsol Honda.

It'll also rule out ANY hope for Rossi's results, as his greater weight over the microbe pilots will kill him over race distance.

Article also says that Redding will be ok next season on the 'open' customer Honda cos his weight can be countermanded by the 24L fuel allocation, but if he got his 'factory' bike in 2015 then (like VR or ANY other rider who isn't basically an emaciated dwarf) he'll have no chance.

Of course these crazy tech rules doesn't mean that Redding an be a contender - as his bike will be carefully 'managed' by HRC to ensure its not capable of upsetting the status quo. After all - Repsol pays the big bucks to be doing the winning. But it might well mean that ANY Yamaha (factory or open class) rider hasn't much chance of glory.

Dorna is basically giving Honda enough rope to HANG MotoGP until it is DEAD.

Read the article & then contemplate the implications. Then come back & tell me I've been OTT when I've been aying what a critical MESS Dorna have made GP's.

After reading excerpts from Casey's new book in MCN I can safely predict he'll sell quite a few copies.
It will obviously appeal to his fans but it will appeal even more to 'Rossi haters'. From what he writes I'm guessing that he doesn't like Rossi much. :)

The book is not what you think it would be and what you've read in MCN is like when you see a movie trailer and you think it's going to be good movie and it's cruddy. That to is CS book cr**ppy...
