Good interview.

'I dont' think they are going to be big friends. They are not already...Next year it will be very tense'
I agree!

'you cannot imagine how insecure Cal is'

I think that's why sometimes he talks himself up a bit too much, trying to overcompensate..

'I find it a little bit strange that riders especially young riders, bring their friends with them. I don't think this happens in any other motorsport'

I wonder is he referring to Marquez?

Thing is Cal missed his chance in part so he had to move to somewhere, for sure he has a big ask of a big task
insecure yes but time will no doubt tell its tale
roll on next season
but lets all enjoy the end of this exciting in many ways one first :-)

Interesting. Seems that Herve is saying that Cal has a very, very high level of raw talent and speed. Which, back in the day (or in classes) where there is/was a lot less adjustability (to fine-tune the package to the nth degree) then CC might well be a WC?

There's some very high-level names mentioned where Herve says they could eventually get to put in a super-fast lap after much work - but those guys didn't have CC's ability to just ride the wheels off it. So CC has had to learn to crunch the numbers and work hard at set-up to get good on a current MotoGP bike -as his raw talent alone cannot compete with setup data and application.

Just goes to show just how dependent the bikes and riders are now on DATA & DATA INPUT to optimise them. Rider ability is being replaced by a laptop. Shame.

"So many people who know everything! It is always the same, there are so many 'Mr I know Everything' around the paddock that at some stage you don't listen any more." Herve Poncharal.

He could be talking about Crash.net LOL

They should've asked why T3 have such a dog of a Moto2 bike and what they're doing to turn it around. It put Danny Kent in a tough position this year, from Moto3 race winner to last-points scrapper.

@iusedtobesleepy Don't forget Cal was holding off an early contract offering from Tech3 because he was not sure that Tech3 had Yamaha backing for 2014 and 2015. That deal was signed only a couple of months ago.
