It was an exciting year of racing, with quite an anticlimax final.
Out of 17 rounds,Vale had 5 wins and Hayden only 2 melandri, capirossi, elias and even troy bayliss took wins!
When Vale just layed his bike into a gravel trap it kind of stole what i thought would be an exciting batttle from the spectators.
Incidentally a young upstart called Jorge Lorenzo dominated the 250s that year

I'll take Stoner's view on that all day.
I was watching that race live and I said to my wife "There is something wrong with Rossi's bike. It just can't turn" and then down it went.

Yeah, I think it's weird that story popped up, and that Stoner had made mention of it in his book.

It was also interesting that Stoner said the team (2006 LCR Honda) had no say in the tyres used on race day. They'd spend all weekend trying different tyres and setups, then come race day, Micheline provided them with what Michelin decided they had to run, not what they (LCR/Stoner) wanted.
