I like Jeremy but there could be a possibility that he, like older riders, aren't adapting to the new guard of things like the electronics and computer controlled bikes. Its not his specialty...the days of hacking the bike up, making mechanical tweaks, etc...are gone. If Rossi has the idea to give it one more season...6 races...to decide if he has the speed...he is going to want a fresh, hungry, top chief engineer to evaluate that goal with him. Sure, it sucks to see someone you like go down, but if he was doing the job right, he likely wouldn't have been fired. Two bad years at Ducati with Burgess noticeably quiet, and a lackluster year at Yamaha might indicate something

JB was only going to do one more year anyway. This is Valentino's last chance so had to do this as a desperate measure !! Do you honestly think he didn't have serious worries over it? It would not have been an easy decision to make.
