Don't think this is a good idea, the season ends at the last race. Don't want to dilute the racing either. Anyway as long as they are given out fairly and consistently then the same rules will apply to everyone and not just Marquez. I've said before that if MM would have rode like Lorenzo in the last 3 races, barging into people, nearly knocking others off and running them wide, he would have been banned.

So if you are awarded 10 points and they last for a year, you will be banned from each race for the rest of the season, as they will stay on you "licence" for a year.
unless of course they come off your total when you "use" them by starting from the back of the grid, or from pit lane, in which case no one will start from grid lane unless they "score" 6 points in two consecutive races (as they will have started from the back of the grid when they reached 4.
in order to get banned for one race you would have needed to be awarded 7 points in a race whilst already being on 3, as if you had been on 4 you would have started from the back of the grid and those points would have been deducted.
if points aren't deducted when starting from the back of the grid /pit lane, then anyone reaching 10 would not be able to race again until that total returned to less than 10, which could take a year.
a clearly well thought through rule again, did Bridgestone have something to do with it

This could make things interesting!
I have said many times that i am all for a bit of fairing clashing as long as it doesnt go too far.
The problem is,how far is too far?
Where is the line drawn in the sand and what have you got to do to cross it?
Track discipline is very important but we dont want to see riders put in a situation where they are afraid to make a bold overtaking move because of fear of punishment.
People complain as it is that we dont see enough "real racing".

re: "Seems like a better system but as with all rules somehow they will be broken or fiddled with"

or in the case of Philip island, COMPLETELY disregarded by the people who made them so a desired outcome could be realized.
