MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE Moto2: Anthony West - Q&A

"WADA [World Anti-Doping Agency] came in and tried to overrule the FIM decision... They felt that I should have my license taken away for two years. The situation was always at the back of my mind and I was pretty stressed about it" - Anthony West.

Yeah real good interview. And I always thought these blokes were loaded. What a tough career he's had.
Then he say's "when I finish racing I'll be sweeping the floor somewhere or something! " wow, poor bloke.. Well, If he doesnt know the difference between optimist and pessimist........

That is an excellent interview. Am a big fan of Westy's and wish him all the best. That is one man committed to his sport... he has had his fair share of detractors and bad luck over the years and after reading the interview it gives greater insight into the racer and the person - hopefully some of his detractors take the time to read the article as well. How can you not respect a guy that puts it all on the line every year to do something he loves and to do something that we all enjoy.

He comes across far better in print interviews ... whenever I've heard him interviewed on air, he's always sounded about 1 bad day away from slitting his wrists.

Just shows how crazy the earning situation is at the moment.
Less than 20% of the guys racing at world championship level are earning money. That's just wrong.
Compare that to the number of overpaid primadonna's kicking air-filled leather around a football field ...

Dont play dumb Mr West. When i used to play sport,at the begining of the season i would be given a list of what i wasn't allowed to take,,including things like Lemsip. You've been racing in Motogp for a long time,,there's no excuse. I know Westy fanboys,,his Dad will come round my house and beat me up,,lol

I don't know if any kind of drug could help you go faster on a motorbike anyway.
Anthony West.

Exactly!
What a crock of sh*t this is.
If energy drinks contain banned substances, why do so many bikes have their names blazoned down the sides?
Why do we see riders holding energy drink bottles during interviews?
How can a drink give a rider an advantage?
He isnt peddling the bloody bike around the track is he!!!!
Complete bo****ks in my opinion.
Feel sorry for the guy.
