Currently imho Bradl should have done better this year and does not deserve a factory spec RCV. Almost seemed like once he had got his contract extension in his back pocket he stopped trying

Out of 10 completed races, one 10th, one 2nd place and the rest 4th -7th places. That's good consistent riding.
As for having a 'factory spec' bike, I'd bet that his and Bautista's machines were not identical to Dani & Marc's. The question is 'What factory spec?' - the very latest or the previous one, or the one before that.

It was said that Crutchlow's bike was factory spec but it turned out it was a couple of steps behind the factory team's spec.

I expected more this year from Bradl,
And after Laguna Seca, i thought he would be a solid podium contender. So i'm a bit disappointed. Still i like the guy.
And about the factory spec or not.
Put Stoner on Bradl or Bautista's bike and he would be up there every race!

Bautista and Bradl bike are very different.
Stoner could fight for victory on those bikes but not always specially on showa.
and why are you comparing him with stoner, sure all these guys are great but guys like Stoner or Marc or Jorge or Dani or even Rossi are just a step above.

BoZZo, i agree with you!
Indeed Bautista's bike is very different with Showa and Nissin.
And im not intended to campare them with Stoner. I just wanted to point out that factory spec or not doesn't always matter that much.
Ofcourse the difference is there.
It's just that i expected more, he just doesn't seem to get it all together. That's a shame in my opinion. Bautista was quit good at the second half of the season, and i expected bradl in that position too. Fighting with Cal, Alvaro and Vale,
Just a question, but is factory spec compared to non spec so much different then a couple of years ago, when satelite bikes were able to fight for victory?

Last I heard of satellite bike winning was way back in tire wars days. Toni fighting Rossi, Gone are those days, even if the bike is said to be factory spec its not that, all satellite teams are provided a factory engineer who makes sure the bikes are behind factory bikes. Gap is not much but enough. They said the prody bike will be 0.3 sec off pace but we all see the gap.
But I agree expectations were higher for Bradl and he came short of it.

And a shame it is. I forgot about the tyrewars.
But how nice would it be if there would be multiple riders cabable of racing for victory.
But times have changed, and Carmelo doesnt help it in the right direction i guess.
Still i love the show and get excited each race weekend.
Assen is for sure next year, but San Marino or Valencia could be on my list to.
Can't wait for the season to start again.

Its amazing how the "factory techs" can make a bike slower while keeping similar top speeds. Top speed is a result of good corner exits and late braking. So if the non factory bikes have the same "or very close" top speeds and the brakes work just as good they must have figured out a way to shave 10ths mid corner without it effecting top speeds. I can't believe a computer tech has so much power in the outcome. Its pretty sad actually
