Am I missing something?

He says Marc is in totally different league even considering the time of the day the simulation took place and then he is 0.7s from Dovizioso and says he'd have done the same time if it had been morning... ?

Isn't that a bit of a contradiction?

Hate to mention this and don't wont to start a debate but, isn't it similar to when stoner was so much faster at laguna nobody thought anybody could touch him. Another rider had to make his strategy to just keep getting in the way so he couldn't streak off

If Marc is 20 seconds faster than the rest of the field over race distance, they might as well give him the trophy now!
But something tells me it wont be as clear cut as that.
We will see.

As I understand it Marc's race sim was done in the morning temperature when the track is much cooler than in the afternoon, when Jorge did his, which would have effected the lap times a lot considering g the race is always held in the afternoon. Marc certainly wasn't that much faster than Dani during last years race. Maybe Cal is just stirring the pot

Lorenzo didn't do a race simulation, his longest run was 7 laps.

Remember Honda is already a stable package all around,, 2014 bike is just the better version of 2013 bike... Honda using this testing to just fine tune their bike to get it ready for the season opener,, on the other hand yamaha has various issues related to fuel, brakes, tyre mileage etc... they are still searching for the prefect solution but they are around the corner of solving it... keeping this in mind along with afternoon time they chose for simulation I'll say yamaha is not far behind...

Rossi says they used the opportunity to understand problems,, but marc's response was that he was very much satisfied,, so honda has done it all and yamaha still has gap to close potentially...

If MM did his race sim in the morning and JL did his in the afternoon, I would think JL's times are more indictive of what the times will be during the GP as they race in the afternoon...just saying. It almost sounds as if Cal is making his excuses now for his lack of results in the upcoming season.
