Cal Crutchlow cannot wait to compete on Italian soil as a factory Ducati rider for the first time in Mugello.

Ducati fans are loyal and sensitive.Crutchlow started on wrong foot already, time to score.

All fans are loyal and on certain issues sensitive. Wether it be loyalty to riders, manufacturers or wanting action no matter who provides it.

As for the Ducati team I like that it appears as though Ducati has remained Italian. It is a pity that the three ECU programers left Ducati. For me that is the main problem. But business is business and the big two from Japan are always going to pay big dollars.

What VW/Audi may want to consider is offering big bucks to get those three back to Ducati.

I always thought it was a pity that Loris got taken out by Sete and lost the opportunity to give Ducati their first WC with an Italian rider.

Cal needs to take a leaf from Rossi and start being a realist. OK it is frustrating for him but it does seem to be costing him at the very least the places from Dovi to him.

Swissjudge, are you seriously implying that Ducati are where they are because they lost a couple software engineers a couple years ago??? Clutching at straws their bud...think their problems are a lot more involved than that, the world has millions of software engineers I'm sure their place can be filled. The bottom line is the success of these manufacturers in prototype racing comes down to a company spirit and philosophy. Honda and Yamaha have been dominating this racing for many decades long before the term software engineer existed. That's because they build the best bikes and know how to go racing, that's not going to change. Ducati are out of their depth and will always make up the numbers no matter how much they change the rules in their favour... And the argument about lots of money holds no water, they are all spending shed loads of money it's just that some are better at it than others....

SwissJudge,

Beeing realistic means no progress. He needs to give it all, till then at least don't bash bike/team,afterall there are only 12places and 38points between him and teammate...
Now that's a start for getting Ducati fans support.

"Ducati are out of their depth and will always make up the numbers no matter how much they change the rules in their favour..."

That is a counterfactual statement.

When have Ducati changed the rules in their favour???

"And the argument about lots of money holds no water, they are all spending shed loads of money it's just that some are better at it than others...."

Money gets things done it's just whether or not you r doing the right things in the right way at the right time get one of those wrong and well your not going to be world champion.

V4.... When I say they I mean the rule makers... These open/semi factory/ whatever rules were changed a number of times before the start of the season and it still hasn't helped them

As for the money well you are just repeating what I said... Ducati are spending loads of money but it's not showing any results... Perfect example being 30 million € on rossis wage for 2 years... That was money well spent...not
Prototype racing is expensive always will be , people need to deal with that

I doubt anyone seriously expected the open rules to help Duc overnight. It is allowing them more latitude to change the bike over time. What they do with this latitude is up to them, hopefully they use the money and rules wisely.

At least they have one dedicated and constructive attitude in the garage with Dovi. Would be nice if Cal joined the effort.

You mention the rules. I don't get how they can claim to be an open bike. Standard ECU, more fuel, more engines and more testing. yet they are running their own electronics, not DORNA's ECU.

Plus Cal is not on the same level as Dovi. Lets see if he can get through the weekend without crashing!
