It seems to me that the best strategy would have been to do one lap on the wets then pit, hindsight is a great thing:-

1) Petruci proved that you could do a good laptime early on on wets.
2) He (they) would have avoided the queue coming in and out of the pits
3) It would have been a faster pitstop as they could have swapped bikes and exited the pits without being stopped.

How on earth do you work that one out?
When they pitted on the warm up lap they are only held until the last bike crosses the end of pit lane at full chat, so only a couple of seconds really, as opposed to losing about 20 odd seconds by coming in the next lap, riding through pit lane on limiter then having to swap bikes!

Codger: JG94.....Irony. It was the other way round at Tech3. Same result.

Yes. But Cal was only in his second gear of Motogp then and the yamaha is a much easier bike to get on with - it would seem - than the ducati is.

As I was reading the article, I was thinking, "wow, nice, dude is not complaining about his bike for a change." Wrong, "my bike doesn't turn, my bike doesn't turn,...". Same bemoaning, new day, whilst collecting a fat paycheck.

"Both Crutchlow and Dovizioso have been linked with the returning Suzuki team."........LMFAO. There was even an article here in the US linking Crutchlow with Pedrosa's Repsol seat. Who makes up this nonsense? CC's minions, that's who. I am more likely to regrow hair on my dome than CC landing another factory MotoGP seat. There are too many more attractive options available to the powers that be.

Dateline 7/29, "Cal Crutchlow has decided to remain with Ducati MotoGP."
