I remember reading an interview, I think it was with one of the Bridgestone guys, where the opinion was that MM is often "playing" with the limits. This means he crashes now and again (most crashes last season!) but it also means he knows the limits of the bike and the tyres. He doesn't often crash in races-thats what practices and tests are for. We've seen a much more mature MM since he stepped up to Motogp and I for one think he rides within himself at most races. Yes what he's doing can look scary and out of shape but it's a result of playing with the limit not a result of overriding at 110%. his results prove that. Yes it may be possible to override and grit your teeth for one flying lap but you can't do that over 30 race laps
