MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE Herve Poncharal (Tech 3) - Q&A

"Competition is a bitch and this isn't the Red Cross so it's sometimes very difficult and very harsh. When you decide to become a competitor you have to accept the laws of competition" - Herve Poncharal, Tech 3.

Taking a rider, any rider, directly from Moto3 to a full blown factory MotoGP bike is frankly bonkers.
It would be a crash-fest and someone would in all likelihood get killed.
It isn't bold, it isn't brave, it's just plain stupid & shouldn't be allowed to happen.

A tad over the top don't you think? These riders aren't idiots.

Stillsmokin: i dont understand why all of a sudden people are ignoring moto2 marquez and dani were a lot more dominant in the lower classes than jack miller is yet they were not fast tracked
if you look at the new style of ridding in motogp it comes from moto2 not moto3
i think if jack or any moto3 rider goes straight to motogp it will wreck there career they will only get two years then will be sent packing
if marquez needed two years in moto2 then every one will

Maybe there is desperation to get an Aussie in the premiere class ASAP, one that is surrounded by some hype. It would be huge headlines in the GP world if it happens, Dorna has to have riders from multiple continents that are relative. I'll agree that the new GP style is derived from M2. We shall see...

I could never understand how Smith got the Tech 3 seat in the first place. Scott Redding would have been a far better choice, but Scott got stuck riding that dog of a Honda production racer, and Smith has been disappointing on a full on M1. Tough breaks all around.

Beat Pol in the next few races and Herve will sign the new contract with a big "i knew he would do good" smile...

Lets hope he can!

Btw, for a uk site, there sure is a lot of hate for uk riders...

Go smith! I have confidence in you!

Interesting comments from Herve, and pretty much how I read it for BS.

By default, he's gone, but he still has a chance. Can't ask for more than that. Last year was for learning, lower spec and all. This year, on the full factory M1, it really is put up or shut up. He has shown promise, but so far hasn't delivered. Those are the cold hard facts. Pressure's real.

Worrying about losing his ride will ensure that he loses it. He doesn't need to win races necessarily, but get podiums, or go very close. He needs to find a way to convert a fast lap into a fast race. If so, his career MIGHT live on...Motorbike racing is measured by results alone.

I think it was sad that so many armchair experts wrote him off before he started, but that's the lay of the land. They did that to Stoner too, even when he won on the Ducati. If you're good enough, you can make them suck it up and eat their words, or forever just look stupid.

I'd still like to see Bradders cut through, but it's a long shot.

BS was a gamble for Herve that didnt pay off the way he think.. BS was riding one moto2 bike that many people told it was not competitive, also Tech 3 team have a good relation with British people thats why they give this oportunity to BS also BS bring some sponsers with him thats why he got the place.. since Yamahas Sign Pol Espargaro he was with JOB done for the 2014 plans, everythingh clear and simple.. BS is a British rider that did the Motogp School progress so 4sure he didnt shine, is not competitive on race but at least like CalC he can do some good laps in qualify, maybe BS is just a rider like Stefan Bradl that with more time he will get more consistente and competitive... I think should use better words about riders even when they are not competitive now but in the Future who knows?? Maybe some of the people that Cry so much now Why BS go that place in Tech 3 in the future will be saying man this guy learn a lot is much better now.. We never know... 4sure Tech 3 Team had othe

rbr46: LOL crash.net. Are you big BS fans or something? Removing my comment that tells the truth about BS clearly touched a nerve with one your mods. The truth hurts.

I think if you class Bradley Smith, a rider that can finish in the top 10 of the best motorcycle championship in the world, as an embarrassment to the UK then you live a very blinkered life.
