"No amount of money can overcome the lack of a good design concept.Oh dear, I'm paraphrasing s1...time to take a break."

Hey... put a cork in it, hehe. Well anyways yeah I agree, and despite poor results as a company entered in GP (post Stoner), being #1 at factory Ducati is about as prestigious as it gets, right behind Yamaha and Repsol Honda. On one hand I wish he had stayed at T3 where he had a better shot at podiums, but who can blame him for the move when money and factory status is achievable. Cal has stumbled but Dovi has it together mentally and it's showing.

Vilas46: taking the rool has number 1 rider in one Factory Team... 4sure if he had sucess with Ducati in the new bike i will be happy for him, its big pity for Suzuki to not have him for 2015 because Alex Espargaro is on Top Form but is very nervous is the Angry rider that when goes Crasy he crash, anyway will see how he will be in 2015 on the Suzy

Vilas, I can't understand what you're getting at, and it isn't an English problem...I understand that you're passionate, and that's great, but it would greatly help us to read your posts if you try to organise your thoughts before you type. Maybe type in Portugese if it helps...we all have access to google translate. I started re-reading your post, but I gave up. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to understand true wisdom...

Back on topic...Dovi is the benchmark for Ducati from here. Never mind his career...he may not be brought into arguments about who the greatest rider of the era was...and he might even realise that. So he has to accept the fact that he is "merely" one of the best riders in the world...that must be hard!

Anyway, he is the main man at Ducati for providing the most important information to the enginee4rs. It is a concern that he doesn't feel anyone there necessarily knows how to fix the problems he raises...That's the biggest disapointment from reading this. No amount of money can overcome the lack of a good design concept.Oh dear, I'm paraphrasing s1...time to take a break.

Just goes to show that if you have self-awareness and are realistic, life can be pretty good and go well in general. He realizes that not everyone can be at the very top, but also one must always try and work hard. Teams must love the fact that he complains so little and always is committed as a professional. Probably doesn't hurt that he isn't constantly wadding bikes up either. Go Dovi, fingers crossed that your work ethic and the evolution of the Ducati come together for success.

Dovi has proved throughout his entire career he will work extremely hard when he doesn't have the best machinery...
250's when he was on an inferior Honda to Lorenzo's Aprilia...GP when he was on the Scot Honda satellite machine...No.3 in the Repsol Squad, Tech 3 Yamaha and now Ducati.
He just quietly goes about his business and gets on with it.
Fully deserves that Ducati to be a winning machine next year.

I was just going to touch on that, and I agree with both of your points. This comment is especially telling to me...

"Andrea Dovizioso:
At Repsol Honda it was the first time that I started to work properly with the Japanese engineers and they are completely different from European engineers. You have to change because your logical way is not their logical way, so you have to adapt and try and explain everything to get the result."

I read that as, "The Japanese have their stuff together. The Europeans? Ehhhh!" I wonder what people will say if GG's new design exhibits the same Ducati handling issues.

I think Dovi has prove to a lot of idiots that when they are so hard speacking about riders they dont make any sence.. To many people here at Crash.Net ,

Dovi was just one simple rider, one Sandbag i think its the name they use, They all speack bad about him because he never shine like Lorenzo or didnt show the Agressive atitude of Simoncelly or Even Ianoone Style the Crasy Joe... But now that Dovi is showing to people how importante it is to have one rider that knows what is doing, that avoide crashes and just focus on make the complete JOB even if that means finishing in the Positions that the SUCATI allow him to Finish, NOW THEY CHEER and give the THUMBS up to Dovi.. Its funny in some way but in other make me SICK of some people here... Dovi is more less like Rossi but People was all the way For one rider like Simoncelli that yes was a LEon but he was not like Dovi that is Calm and is not one SHOW OFF rider , Without any doubt a Mature rider Ready to do what is doing now, taking th
