MotoGP » Hayden ‘already thinking about next year’

“It takes patience... I made the decision thinking about being healthy for the end of the season and already thinking about next year” - Nicky Hayden.

Obviously, the wrist, particularly the right wrist. is a crucial joint to a motorcycle racer. Let's hope the procedure corrects Nick's injury.

You know Hayden would love to race in front of his hometown fans and really likes Brno as well. Sitting around stinks.

The team is doing the smart thing and thinking long term. Good wrist, performance upgrades, better results to follow in 2015.

Yes have your share of good and bad time in motogp...but if you stay in's the bad time ahead...So why not try WSBK and see if you can have good time there...hope you make the right decision.

Can't believe racers would rather troll around knowing their bike will never let them win, than go to a "lesser" series with a more even playing field.

Nick, nothing to prove, and you're financially secure already, go have fun in WSBK and compete for podiums again!!!

Realist: @ Spinach

I think ego and money (aka, "I'm a premier class rider") trumps the competitiveness of a WSBK ride.

Dorna knows having at least one American matters. They can barely sell tickets for Indy and if Nicky was gone..... it would be a near ghost town. He's still popular. So Fwiw he has a few years of making money in GP ahead of him. But I truly hope he doesn't pull a Colin and stick it out to the bloody, depressing end. he will never win another race again unless he switches to the production-based series.

I think both the Dorna international series face a crisis in the future unless theres a serious rethinking of their strategy.

Fans want to see a gladiatorial contest between riders. Fans want the modern day gladiators to need skills and talents as well as balls in order to win. Fans want a win to be hard fought against strong worthy rivals. Fans want to be entertained.

A series dominated by a fast computer, where the equipment breaks a field of 22 into 4 hopelessly disparate tiers of pace and budgets simply wont cut it.

Sure Americans want to see one if their own. But not if hes on a no hope grid filler ride - it could even have a negative effect as fans feel its an insult and a rip off to take the trouble to travel to a circuit and buy a ticket.

Nicky (like all the other supporting cast grid fillers in Dorna's MotoGP) deserves so much better.

Look what happened at Ducati, Hayden got canned so they could hire that loud mouth Crutchlow, now he left them and got what they deserved, i bet Gigi wishes he had Hayden for development purposes.
