Who doesn't love Colin Edwards? It's been a great ride, so many great moments throughout his career. Hope he gets the send off he deserves during his wild-card entries.

ProfessorX: next we will get Cal's money

You couldn't be more wrong, Cal's going to LCR because he's a brit and the team is being sponsored by a brit company, this is more Dorna's work than Checchinello's

Regardless of never winning a GP, Edwards has been superb to watch...
Assen 2006 was one of the best races to watch.

and Tomlvoh...I think the term legend is used in regards to his personality..not the 'Motogp Legend' obsession everyone has.

Yeah, in Assen 06 was truly a legendary boneheaded move proper of a CRMA racer - throwing away a sure (and only) victory in a most comical fashion (by gassing the throttle on the grass).

A motogp legend? Not by a longshot !! Asking "It is still unclear why Edwards is not completing the season" is silly- it is quite obvious! CE is a GREAT, fun loving, straight talking Texan that is loved by all. But other than that, CE has been simply bringing home the bacon (for wifie and kids) and having a good time. Sponsors are no longer willing to foot the bill without any other value added fanfare (ie NH).

Yep Edwards beating Bayliss in WSB and then as Rossi's Team m8 in Motogp great times!

And the term Legend is not always reserved for the MM93's of this World, IMHO I think to beat the likes of Rossi and what he has acheived in his career and still mixing it with the front runners is just awesome!
I think MM(£ can and will be beaten I just wonder wtf is Pedrossa up to? Has he just happy enough to take the money and do as Honda instruct?

Brno gonna be good and enjoy the end of Racing full time Colin!!

The CE highlights- nutshell version.

WSBK- no explanation needed.

First year in GP on the cube- no comment
2004-2009: Podiums scored every year. Highest finishing spot in the WC being 4th

2010-2011: scores one podium in his final 2 years with T3.

2012: Scores the first "CRT win". Actual podiums are impossible going forward.

Beyond this he has been there more or less as an actively racing test-rider to help the Forward team get the bikes developed. He was the best possible choice as a rider available in this regard and continued riding as a result. So I see it as having an "actual" GP career for 9 years and scoring podiums in all but two. One if you discount the cube disaster. So not bad. He knows it's time to go and is doing so. I would love it if the guy stayed around GP in another position, live commentary would be great.
