MotoGP » Redding waiting on Gresini for MotoGP 2015

"It's difficult when Gresini are thinking of going to another manufacturer because the Factory [Honda] is so expensive. I'm not going to stay on an Open bike" - Scott Redding.

Redding sure has rode well, and deserves a shot at that satellite bike, but goodness me, the way he talks, sounds like it is more of an entitlement!

Redding, Crutchlow, Smith & soon to be Miller, sure have got alot to talk about!

He is factory material and has the skills but there is a path to follow and he is right to insist that the next step on the path is a satellite bike. If Honda want to give him a factory bike he has every right to find a team to provide for him. MarcVDS, now's your chance!

I'm glad to hear that Honda want Redding on a factory bike, he definetly has done more than enough to deserve it. The problem is which one... Crutchlow and Miller will go to LCR and Gresini are switching to Aprilia..?

For me he's 100% right not wanting to 'mess around' for a few years on uncompetitive Open bikes, he can't afford it, the Factories these days are already looking at moto3 kids to hire, Miller to LCR? probably Quartararo will be next! Waste a few years at the back of the grid and your chance may be gone.

I really hope he can get on a good bike because he's a great rider from a great generation of agressive moto2 riders Marquez, Iannone, Espargaro. I am sure Honda know it and I hope can arrange to get him on a good bike.

He's justified.

This was part of the original contract. It totally stinks now. If Honda are serious they should help fund him. Scott is capable of fighting & beating Marquez. (Maybe Honda don't want that)?

You all want to see a good show right? Scott deserves a factory Honda. Scott is head and shoulders the most talented UK rider.

As a massive fan of Scott & his achievements, I am that miffed about this situation I may not bother watching, the show, if he doesn't get what he deserves.

I've been watching Grand Prix since the early 80's.

Scott needs factory Honda, Brembo & ohlins. Then we'll see some fire works. Mark my words.

MattyMKO745: DM52 there is no chance Scott will end at LCR... it's bigger chance that Gresini will switch to Aprilia and Honda factory spec bike will be taken by MarcVDS...

Marc VDS are working with Kalex to make a move up to MotoGP in 2016 using leased Yamaha engines, I'd be quite surprised if they ended up with Honda machinery for next season.

JedPB67 I know that, my post was just a rumour circulating around the paddock... apparently Michael Bartholemy has spoken to HRC management about the possibility to get the Factory spec Honda, if Gresini decides to switch to Aprilia... and that was reported by Speedweek and they don't get too many things wrong...
