This engine configuration is allowing Dovi to gain ground on the other factory bikes. Will only be a matter of time until this bike is on pole, and should they get another alien or future alien to ride the bike then it will surely be a consistent podium.

@ Biaggi

If you had followed Andrea Iannone back in moto2 serie you wouldn't say that!! In fact AI rode like hell on that inferior speedup and beaten MM several times fair and square. AI is superfast and he has proven that on that Ducati.

lemme guess, you used to ride a UJM, but always liked Ducs and knew they were expensive. finally in the year 2014, you were able to score a used 1098 ('07) and figured, okay, now that I own one (and fancy myself a ducatisti) maybe i'll start paying attention to racing...?

how close am I...? tell the truth.

I only ask this 'cause no REAL ducatisti would make such comments, nor would any TRUE race fan who's been tuning in the past few years. not that there's anything wrong with that, first time for everything, but your comments reveal MORE than just the point you wanted to make so be mindful of your surroundings.

welcome to crash, the "shark infested waters" of the internet.

Dovi is doin good , but lets not forget there's a handicap system in place. In fact there are 3 classes in one !!!!

I agree that Iannone is a beast and has the potential to eventually develop even further and become a title contender. Dovi, not so much... he had his shot at HRC and was completely outclassed by both Pedrosa and Stoner.

Sure, he seems to have improved since but how can we be certain of that? Because Ducati hasn't been that fast since Stoner was riding it? I'm sorry but if that's your argument, it has no logic. Completely different bikes, running completely different tires and against completely different bikes from the other manufacturers.

You can't really compare an 08-09 bike against anything we have now... And on top of that, Iannone is doing an even more amazing job seeing as he's on a satellite team. If you want to pretend the bikes didn't change that much, remember what the other Pramac riders were achieving on that 'same' bike and Iannone's year becomes even more of a standout.
