How can a guy whos won 7 world titles, broke so many records came 2nd in the championship when the bike and or tires havnt been as competitive be ordinary? Every rider has commented that when they have been behind Rossi he looks like he is workin the bike and himself so hard to make what is a rubbish bike so competitive where is Colin and most of the other guys on mich's rubber? Too many people r talkin as if Rossi is past it, a has been. He still has World champs in him. He might win the title next year and everyone will remember just how good he really is, afterall a true champ is able to go through the bad times and still have the skill and passion to win at what they love to do the best.

Quite amusing isn't it - when all goes well it's down to Rossi developing the bike so well, but when it doesn't then it's all Yamaha's fault. He's been on that bike long enough now not to blame anyone. If it's wrong then it's him that has told them to do it wrong.

The man can still ride a bike, but it just goes to show that these days all you need is a good rider on it and a the best bike will win. Too many electric gadgets etc.

Also whilst I'm here, there is talk of Motogp being the bets race etc, yet look at the 125 and 250 (excluding George L) - great scraps ans full grids. Only 19 in Motogp - that needs addressing and fast

rossi must be the only guy to be runner twice in 2 seasons and be finished according to some people amazing that, so the rest of the field might aswell retire then

Todays race looked to be a good race untill the Michelins started to fade once again, I know that Bridgestone riders also reported similar problems.

This year has been another tough year for most on Michelins, one thing that's baffling me is what the ****'s happened to Suzuki?

I mean they was right up there at the front most of this year & now all of a suden no where.

As for the doctor well, he's just enjoying himself now but if he's to stand any chance of a shot at the title next year Yamaha are gonna have to get that bike sorted.

Anyone know why they chose not to run the new engine this weekend because the old engine got a pasting again on the straights.

Now Darryl Beattie is an Aussie that actually respects Valentino Rossi and what he stands for.
Some of you can learn from that.

Peace ;)

Grromm,
just listened to that interview & it was interesting.

I wouldnt rule out a finish to his carrer im Moto Gp on a ducati, now that will be interesting.

I would have relished Valentino alongside Stoner just to see who's the best, I dont need telling i know would love to see him prove his point though.

Other points in that interview are very true also, he mentioned that he's pressed for Yamaha to design a V4 engine but that's apparently not the way to go as it could take too long to develop & goes against the way the Yamaha works.

Mr Grromm

I think you will find that most Australian MotoGP fans also respect Rossi. I think what gets many people off side is that people on here who are easy to pass Stoner off as a second rate rider, who has jumped onto the Ducati and it's the only reason he has won races. To me and many other Australians, we understand it is the total package, that wins races and championship, not just the rider.

If the Ducati and bridgestone were to sole reason. The top 4 positions in the championship would be a Ducati/Bridgestone combination.

Out of interest, how have the other Ducati/Bridgestone riders faired in podium positions V Casey Stoner?

I reckon one of the reasons Stoner is getting so much flack is because he did such a crap job last year on a Honda. He jumps on a Ducati and suddenly he wipes the floor with everyone. Now before that Stoner fan/Rossi hater that has posted on this thread half a dozen times already under different names (funny how "God" only posts once!), I ain't knocking Stoner. He deserves his win, has ridden brilliantly and is a new star in MotoGP (pity he isn't a very interesting person)... Just that many people will think (after his performance last year), what would happen if you put a Guintoli or a Vermeulen on the best bike? You understand where I'm coming from?

I thought Stoner did a brilliant job last year, to put that piece of **** consistently at the pointy end of the field takes a bit of doing.

a brilliant job? 7 DNF's? But he was on a Honda, same as lots of others... So it was a crap Honda? Bike excuse! So surely everyone else can blame their performance on their bikes right? Just being Devil's advocate...
