just one thing, people say when rossi win's its down to him and when he loses its down to the bike or tyres.

ask urself this...who else, other than rossi, has won on a yamaha since he joined them in 2004?

it's not as if they've had bad riders, checa was good at yamaha, melandri couldnt get on with the yamaha and edwards...well you dont get 2 wsbk championships by being lucky.

Like we all say, i'd love to see stoner do a season on the yamaha with the tyres rossi has been using, just to see how he'd react and what he would say and how he would finish.

I really dont think the yamaha is a good bike, i bet rossi could do the same or better if he was giving a suzuki or a kawasaki.

???

Parker, to be honest, I think people find it hard to believe that Stoner can be so good on his own, going from dropping the bike at over half the races last year and keeping it on the gravel at all the races this year. He didnt win a 125 or a 250 WC -he was good, but didnt win. Rossi has came up through the ranks, winning 125, 250, 500 and motogp WC so its hard for Rossi fans to accept that their idol is being beaten by anyone.

Even the guys on Eurosport have said that Stoner is one of the only riders to use heir electronics to its full advantage. Yes hes fast and good, but I really dont think he would be as good without all the electronics (see most of last yrs racing). :)

Also Rossi left the comfort of Honda to go to Yamaha and still won two titles - how many others could do that? Besides, Stoner didnt develop the Ducati, Gibernau and Capirex did - he has been fortunate that it has suited him and his riding style perfectly :) I'm not dissing the guy, I just hope that next year will be a more exciting championship :)

If (and I say "If") the one tyre rule comes into play next year and everybody goes to Michelin tyres, would Stoner ever win another championship. Don't get me wrong, he is undeniably quick and now extremely consistant but this is the complete opposite to last year (on Michelin tyres). Stoner himself said that the problem last year was he could tell where the limit was on the French rubber. Just a thought to ponder over while the Aussies are asleep (then get ready for the backlash!). :)

djh,
So you claim Rossi is losing because of bike and tyres but you completely ignore the issues that Casey had last year with B tyres and a team boss that changed the setup on the satelite Honda to what he thought it should be. All of which is widely publisised and has been talked about on this forum several times. There is no way to talk to you people because you are blinded by the Rossi hype.

Get it through your biased mind that 2007 is the first year Casey Stoner has ever been on FACTORY MACHINERY and A tyres. If he had of had the opportunities that Rossi and Pedrosa had throughout their career the story would be different as far as the championships he has one.

Parker. By the sound of your post, it is not just the Rossi fans who might be biased. Goes back to my point. If Stoner switched to Michelins where do you think he would be? World champion or in the gravel?

Of course he would be in the gravel because he would not be getting the same level of tyres that Rossi and Pedrosa get. Which was my point exactly. When you are on the same brand equipment as Rossi and Pedrosa who are the preferred title contenders by Dorna (see TV rights) and the manufacturers they can influence how well you are able to go. This is the reason for all the speculation about control tyres. The preferred winners are not winning so something must be done! If you think it is a fair fight with no manipulation you are naive.
